Stick with Moore! The season is NOT over~

Before you yell at me...hear me out.

We are 0-2. That is not the end of the season. How many expected us to go 14-2?? Most people had the NYG as a loss. Tampa Bay didn't look near as bad as they had for the last three years. Give Josh some credit - he played well.

Minnesota AND Dallas is 0-2 also.

Lots of people asking what is wrong. What IS wrong is that teams are making the QB beat them and stopping the run. That's why we aren't running because teams are loading the box. So why cant our QB beat them? Hopefully that is what our coaches work on this week. From my perspective:

1. QB isn't making decisions fast enough.

2. Oline needs to give him 1-2 more seconds.

3. Play calling. THIS game wasn't as bad (thanks Davidson), BUT we NEED more screens. SHORT FAST passes to Smith, Dwill, Jstew. Build confidence and get our playmakers in the open field.

4. Maybe its just the freaky cameras but it LOOKS like the QB follows his target from beginning to end. No looking around, no hand pumps...QB is making it easy to read.

Now, if you agree with these are the problems we are facing - then what reasons do we think Clausen is going to be better then Moore? Neither one seems mobile, Moore has the bigger arm (I think).

On defense our linebackers are busting tail. If we can get more pressure on their QB's we wont keep having our DB's getting burned.

I think our problems are small and can be overcome. The season isn't over. 1 is an accident, 2 is a trend, 3 is a problem....we take out the Bungles next week and we can settle down. I think the Bengals are better then both the Giants AND the Buc's so we can stop this before we do have a problem.

The time to put check down Clausen in is when the season is over.

Yeah, I hate it. I have been supporting Moore all summer, but he is just not very good. And just the little we saw from Clausen today, made me more of a believer in him. He might just have the huge upside that this team needs. Sure he will make mistakes, but I think he will get better and better all year. If there is a chance to save the season, now is the time to do it before all is lost.

There is no way in hell that Fox can trot Moore back out there next Sunday at home after the atrocious performance he has handed in the past 2 weeks. He will get booed off the field after his first incomplete pass.

I dont see any other option but to start Clausen next week.

Moore sucks. There is a reason Fox stuck with Delhome so long last season. Poor decision making. The problem is Clausen can't do much better......yet.

Stick with Moore if you can and let Jimmy learn. Then next year get an offensive mind in Carolina and either do something with Jimmy or find someone else. Fox is gone win or lose.

1. Not something you can simply make happen overnight. That junk is in Moore's head.

2. I agree 100%.

3. Possibly, but passing more takes away from Fox's philosophy. We run to set up a first down pass. That won't change unless Fox agrees to let Davidson take control. Like...3-3 on 4th Down today? That's not Fox.

4. No camera trickery, that's straight up Moore. He's like a BAD Madden player. He picks his play, sees the WR routes, decides who to pass it to, and presses the pass button.

- Our front 4 is not good enough. That's the simple truth. Maybe if we start Hardy we can get something going. But Johnson is crap, Brown is too small to be effective an entire game and our DTs are nothing special. We are making our LBs do all the work and they are getting too tired.

Jimmy can't learn from a clipboard.

    • Your thoughts? I don't think the trade up or even down value system stays exactly in place this year. Look at all the bad trades that hurt teams that give away too much (49ers for Lance, even us w/the Bears set us back). What trade up except Mahomes/KC was it really a great trade for the team giving up a lot? Same with trading down. Teams will know you don't want to pick and they won't be giving the store to move up because there is not a generational talent to do that for. Now, I believe these possibilities.  The Giants probably won't take QB-Sanders at 3, it's too much pressure if it doesn't work. They don't really need another edge rusher with Carter. I can see them possibly saving face, trade down to even the Panthers at 8 but not asking for a kings ransom. A 1st round swap, a 3rd and 4th and maybe next years 2nd and 4th could be enough without giving up too much. The Giants save in pay and in public opinion and then they can take Sanders or even another QB. For the Panthers to drop down, it has to mean their top 3 picks are not there. Do they take TE-Warren if he drops in their lap at 8 (I do like that)? I believe they would love to drop back but again I don't think teams will pay a lot to move up unless they want a QB before the Saints (our only hope for a good value).  I'm not picking a player, just thinking of the draft in general and value. Reaching doesn't work and more and more teams are realizing that.
    • With the new DL, we should be better at edge by simple addition.   What player would have the biggest impact on the Panthers?  I still see the plan to trade back and take Emmanwori if we can find a trade partner.  Why, you ask?  S is a huge need and they have really only looked at 1 visits/meetings.  We will try to trade up for Princely in the second.  A WR in the third  (Bech or Noel).
