Yes, Clausen should start the rest of the season...

I believe there's a good chance he'll start next week. I still need convincing that it's a good idea though.

Not saying Moore has earned the right to stay, mind you. Just really worried that starting Clausen too early could mess him up, especially under current conditions.

How many times was Clausen sacked when he came in?

The more I've seen of him, the more I'm wondering if Moore is just holding onto the ball too long. I wasn't in favor of either guy b/c of who they are. I felt Moore deserved the chance to be the starter, but he's now deserved his spot on the bench. We can't do much worse and I don't think Clausen will end up like Carr.

Weird day in the NFL today. Vince Young, Jason Campbell, Derek Anderson, and Matt Moore all benched for performance. I can't remember that ever happening in one week before. Looks like QBs are getting put on a shorter leash when so much is riding on their shoulders.

If that ever has happened before, it probably wasn't this early in the season.

I was a huge Moore supporter, but I think he's done... he can't handle the pressure. Our O-line still looked like feces but it looked a little better than last week I guess, so hopefully it looks even better next week. Clausen didn't look flawless, but he's a rookie and he still looked better than Moore did. I think he (Clausen) should start.. at least until December. Then we can let Moore take over again and light it up when we're 0-10 and the games don't matter

Mr. Scot....I take it by your avatar that you lost a bet. lol.

I think Foxy will worry about messing up Moore. As I pointed out in another thread...he sat Carr for a home game to protect him from the crowd. Moore looks pretty fragile. If he started the next game the fan reaction in the stadium would be terrible.

He was only in for two series, and he had one near interception, one actual interception, and was running for his life on a couple of plays. So asking how many times he was sacked is somewhat irrelevant. He wasn't in enough to get sacked much.

Should Clausen play? Perhaps, but Mr Scott is right, there is a risk to playing him.

Clausen played part of one quarter against a team that was protecting a double digit lead. That's not the same as playing from the first snap against an aggressive attack like the Bengals bring.

There's a lot that could go wrong.

yeah, I certainly got a better feeling from Pickles.. he stared down Smitty once that I saw, other than that he seems to go through his reads.. I hear that is pretty important..

Rosario was a bright spot today.. I hope Barnidge starts showing up.. you know, since we don't need more than 1 WR...

Rosario was decent but he did drop that one ball that could have easily netted us at least three points. Just saying but no one was perfect out there today, even Smitty dropped an easy catch....except Beason and Connor.

Wow, please dont tell me that Jimmy Clausen is an adult professional athlete that needs his hand held.

Football is a man's game and Jimmy dealt with shitty pass protection his entire career in college. Dont be soft, put him out there and see what he's made of. It worked for Peyton.

Matt always look for the big play. If he has time he can hit it on 3rd and long, its like he rather it be that way, but sometimes he needs to keep it short and move the chains. He just doesn't pass that way. Interesting cause last year he took whatever was there

Jimmy, thats what he will do, is pass short. Dont expect to be converting 3rd and 18 with him

But it doesn't matter who's QB when you got retarded plays called
