Darin Gant's Tweet on Jarrett

I'm with you overall, but it's hard to feel any sympathy at all for him when he's had 4 years and even this week I heard he was throwing another party, on top of his alcohol issues, DUI and huge car wreck he's had since being here.

He hasn't raped anybody, he hasn't shot himself in the leg, he hasn't run an illegal dog fighting business and he hasn't committed vehicular manslaughter....I would say DJ is doing better then a lot of NFL players when it comes to his conduct....

If he goes somewhere that knows how to use talent, he'll put up some solid numbers.

Yeah, that has been said time and time again. Carolina doesn't know how to develop WRs. And they ruin them for anybody else. If a WR comes to Carolina with out the motivation to become a great WR on his own, then he is lost.

You're right. But my point is, what do these flubs say about his effort, professionalism, and desire to be the best?

Jarrett played like 5 snaps today. He doesn't get the chance.

However, if Fox isnt going to play him over rookies....he should have been cut and talent brought in. No matter how you view it, it is another example of poor roster mgmt. No point bashing Jarrett....just another example of Fox being an idiot.

I think Jarrett and Fox needs the blame. As a player there is no excuse for not knowing the play book after 4 years. As a coach you can't allow a player to continue to weigh your team down.

How do we even know that he doesn't actually know the playbook. He's not on the field long enough to run more then 5 or so plays a game. Before you bring up lining up on the wrong side I saw Smitty redirected to the other side by Moore last Sunday against the Giants....

Regardless, something must have happened between today and last week, otherwise Gettis would have been the active receiver (last week), not Jarrett. Talk about his faults all you want, but they already existed last week and he actually had a couple of decent catches.

It really makes no sense their rationale over this. Unless Gettis tore it up in practice?! There is no logical reasoning for their decisions though, unless something caused them to demote him.

I know he had a party but if this is Fox trying to send a message then he can go fug himself. Players have parties all the time, I think it was actually his birthday party. His birthday is September 11 so he was out of town on it. There's not a doubt in my mind that Jarrett could have been more productive then Gettis if he was given the opportunity today.....

    • I just switched to prime video with fanduel south. Will I be able to watch the Canes playoff games still?
    • I mean, you can use that "logic," but the problem is that most practice squad players, backups or average guys don't put the play on film that Wharton did when given their opportunities.  Perhaps you'll end up right, but I don't think that just because a guy has been in a rotation makes him inherently less productive because he gets more snaps. I will say that the KC fans I've seen on social media loved him, and considered him their second best DT,  regardless of his "rotational" status, and generally considered him a dawg, so I'm going to give him the benefit of doubt until he shows otherwise.
    • Did I miss something?  The people we have developing players now are not the ones we've had in the past so I don't know what the heck people are talking about when they say we are not good at developing players right now.  We only have one year to go on.  Canales likes young players or players who are on an upward trajectory, especially in FA this year.  Past QB's and what he's done with Bryce are good examples. Tershawn Wharton - 26 Tre'von Moehrig - 25 Pat Jones II - 26 Bobby Brown III - 24 Michael Jackson - 28 Jaycee Horn - 25 Tommy Tremble - 24 We missed on Milton Williams but he's 26. Everyone else we picked up are on 1 year deals.  The Panthers new front office and Canales absolutely scream developmental team. Pick 8 (stay) Tier 1 Elite - Abdul Carter, Travis Hunter and Mason Graham Tier 2 Elite - Jalon Walker, Mykel Williams, Will Johnson Trade down: There are quite a few really good players that fit us at Edge, DT, S and WR mid to late 1st and high 2nd.  Some combos that would be possible that I really like.  Imagine getting 2 of these guys by trading down. Stark, Pierce Jr, Golden, Scourton, Grant, Emmanwori, Ezeiruaku, Umanmielen, Deone Walker, Harmon and this is just off the top of my head.
