Panthers losing game, find new QB

The Panthers are losing a game, but they have apparently started a new era.

After two more turnovers from QB Matt Moore, the Panthers pulled their starter and went with rookie Jimmy Clausen to finish Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, which they trailed 20-7 at the two-minute warning..

Unlike when Moore was on the field, the Panthers showed a bit of spark when Clausen was out there, driving to the shadow of the goal line before RB Jonathan Stewart was stopped for a loss and fourth-and-goal from the Bucs 1-yard line.

There was a huge cheer when Clausen entered the game, as fans apparently quickly grew tired of Moore after such a clamor for his services last year.

Moore was 6-of-16 for 125 yards, a touchdown, an interception and an ugly lost fumble.

But with 10:03 left in the fourth quarter, he walked over and shook Clausen's hand, giving over control of the team.

After a decent looking first drive, Clausen bobbled a snap and threw an interception next time out.
