Through three: Bucs 17, Panthers 7

The Panthers are going to have to find some kind of magic, because they're facing a 10-point deficit against the Bucs after three quarters. Tampa Bay got a field goal to take a 17-7 lead after three, and the way the Panthers are playing, that should be enough.

The offense has been a mess, and QB Matt Moore threw the same kind of ugly interception that he did last week in New York. It wasn't in the end zone, but it was in the vicinity of a triple-covered WR Steve Smith.

QB Josh Freeman, on the other hand, looks nothing like the guy who threw five picks in his last trip here, playing a smart game, buying time with his feet and making big throws on the move.

The Panthers have made mental errors high and low, from RB Mike Goodson bobbling a kickoff out of bounds, to DE Greg Hardy hitting Freeman after the whistle to give him free plays -- which he doesn't need the way he's playing today.
