Do you stop someone from buying your used items if said items aren't good for them?

A guy came and looked at my bike last night. If I were his size, I don't think I'd be looking at liter bikes, but that isn't the item that I want to talk about here.

I'm a L on all my accessories. Helmet, Jacket and gloves. He tried on the jacket and commented that he thinks it will work. The kid is obviously in need of smaller sizes than what I wear. At this point I want to sell it all together, and just make my parting with my favorite toy quick. So I'm thinking if he wants to buy/wear stuff thats too big for him then so be it. I learned the hard way. He can too.

But at the same time, I want to tell him he needs the smaller accessories to be comfortable, and most importantly safe if something bad happens to him. God forbid.

He says he's coming with money mid week to put money in my hand. What would you do? And please don't say, "don't sell the bike". As painful as it is, it is the right thing for me to do at this time.

Hard for me to answer, but if your already taking a loss on the accessories take a little bit more off the price and tell him eventually a smaller fitting size would be smart. This way when he does have to re-buy it all he'll have a little extra cash, and you'll be more of an honest seller when that happens.

That is what I would do. If you don't want to give any discount I would say don't sell the bike and wait for someone else but you told me to not say don't sell the bike so I dunno, maybe don't sell him the accessories, but if you want it all to go at once this won't work either. Your going to have to budge on something, whether it be price, or finding another buyer for everything or just the accessories. You could just keep your mouth shut but that all depends on what kind of person you are.

I don't think you'd get bad karma for not telling but I am sure you'll get a whole bunch of good by telling him.

It's not this kids fault you have to sell your bike. He's actually doing you a favor by buying it.

Don't sell him leathers that don't fit. Seriously. And I'll never buy or sell a used helmet. It's not safe. If he can afford a bike, he can afford to protect his head with a new helmet that fits correctly.

For him to need a smaller size than large, this kid is obviously small. Has he ridden before? Have his endorsement? What size bike is it?

Eat the cost of the coat and gloves, or try to sell them on craigslist to someone they actually fit.

i am looking to sell the accessories separately if need be. you and I obviously have different opinions on used helmets bunny. this is a shoei i'm talking about that has one season of wear on it, and all shoei helmets are warrantied for 5 years. i paid just over four hundred after tax, and it won't just sit here wasting away. he should be using the right size though.

i know little more about the kid than his name, but i'd guess he hasn't ridden. i'm not stopping him from buying my 954cc as his first though. he seems to have researched and knows what he's getting. respecting its power and how smart he chooses to ride is on him. if he's dumb a 600 will put him down just as fast as my liter bike.

You can say it's never been dropped on the floor, but I'd rather not take my chances with something to protect my skull. I don't care what brand it is and how big a break on price. The warranty only covers manufacturing defects, not wear and tear or drops. If you want to sell it, send it in for an inspection so you have the letter that states no impacts. It only takes a few days, and it will help it sell.

Bottom line, the helmet doesn't fit him, you know it doesn't fit him, so don't sell it to him.

How much are you asking for your bike, what is it, year, and how many miles? Has it been dropped? We know someone looking.

here's the listing

youtube video is shaky, but gives an overview of everything. Would like 4000 for the bike, or 5 for everything. None of the helmets have been dropped. Jacket hasn't been worn but 5 times, and has no flaws. Just haven't had time to ride this summer, and getting prepped for the kid that's coming. I can afford it, but it is going to waste.

When you list your jacket, keep in mind it's on sale right now for $165 with free s&h. Play up that it's broken in and the leather softened.

You really should take the few days to send in your helmets for impact inspection. It's free and will give the buyer peace of mind.

We've sold everything from helmets to vests, to chaps, to helmet mohawks on craigslist. I don't think you'll have a problem selling.

Is craigslist the only place your bike is listed? Try cycletrader.com if you haven't already.

Give me a few minutes. It could be the color combinations. Ex; brown leather is only dyed once a year, so is almost always more expensive than black. However, when they discount it before the next years run, we can get it much cheaper than when it first comes out.

It's got to be the colors. I'm not sure how often red and blue are dyed. I'm gonna see if any of our red leathers are discounted, if I can even find any.

    • They can’t reasonably fire a rookie head coach who was saddled with one of the worst first overall QBs of all time. And at times made said QB look decent to serviceable.  If the team was 3-11 at this point next season, fire everyone.

    • Weird things also happen when you include garbage time games in your averages. Chicago and Washington he came in with like 2 min left.  The remaining 9 games which he started, 1,737 yards, 193 yards/game. Still low but let’s all be clear the number reported isn’t correct.
