There's a kid here with me who tries to put on one and it really comes off quite pretentious. Not only does he sometimes confuse the British accent with an Australian one, but he tries to talk to other Brits in a British accent. I try to stay as far away from him as possible when we're out in public. It's annoying really.

I don't try to talk in a British accent, but since it's pretty much all I hear except when talking to my American friends, I have found myself thinking with an accent.

There's nothing more annoying though than someone trying to fake an accent, so I just don't do it.
