I suppose lack of dline pressure is to blame for the other 18 passes Manning completed.

But I agree Godfrey had a very bad game. And not just in pass defense. That deer in the headlights run defense play wasn't to good either.

Carolina always gives up passes. It isn't going to bother them allowing some. They can't give up the big ones.....Godfrey was responsible for 2 big ones simply for not handling basic coverage assignments.

I am not necessarily disagreeing with you, but its been true in football for a long time that the key to pass defense is pressure on the passer. Without it, an average QB like Eli Manning can sit back and pick apart even the best secondary.

No doubt the secondary broke down at times on Sunday, but imo no pressure unless we blitz is a worse problem in the long run.

and I agree with you. I think they are gonna have to blitz some....I'd rather see them blitz inside though as I don't think our DEs have a problem and could be great. Anything to disrupt the middle of the line.
