Why 2010 Means Nothing to the Carolina Panthers (no smack)

that wasnt smack, they have no clue what smack is. They throw out a few insults and call us trolls. Smack is telling them that locals in North Carolina are better off cleaning pig crap than attending Panther games since it is more entertaining. Or... Do they have parking spots for their trailers at the stadium? I'm still waiting for the smack talk to start.

Congratulations. You just did what AcousticSoup asked Panthers fans not to do. I wonder why we don't take you guys seriously?

Becaue we beat a team we should have beat.

Beating the Panthers, in my view, establishes the Buccaneers as an imporoved team that is on the rise.

A loss (for either team) leaves a great deal of ambiguity about the future.

Agreed. So why not wait to talk smack until you beat someone better than the Browns? Face it, you guys got a rare win and now you're feeling all high-and-mighty.

I just hope you all are here next week if things don't go your way. Somehow I doubt the majority of Bucs fans will hang around.

I was going to reply properly, but it's completely pointless.

You aren't creating a topic of discussion, you are putting out your opinions to shoot down any who comments on and then quickly state that it's not smack.

Why don't you actually respond to the people who HAVE taken the time to respond to your properly, because as of yet you have literally answered only those who have taken you for what your posts have been worth. So I am sorry, but all this is disguised trolling. If you wanted discussion and debate you would respond to the people who are trying to give it to you.

What is even your point?

Carolina is rebuilding?

Carolina sucks more than Tampa?

Carolina has no future?

You seem to jump from one point to another without ever really saying what it is you are coming here for. The most ridiculous aspect is that all your statements are simple opinions, mostly built around you having not heard of said player, so they must be poor.

You write off Clausen before he has had any chance whatsoever, all the while anointing Freeman as the saviour of Tampa. Well that's completely illogical, considering one has played and performed badly, the other has not even played.

You write off John Fox because he is consistent and does not take chances, yet he got us to 1 superbowl, 2 NFC championships and 3 playoff appearances since 2003. If consistent and conservative produces results, how can you argue??? Did it occur to you that there is in fact more ways to win this game? To compound this you claim that we will be in trouble because our roster is hand picked by John Fox who will be gone next season and our roster overhauled again by a new coach. I hate to say it, but if Raheem does not get a good season under his belt this year, he might well be looking for a job the following season. He has done nothing to prove he is an NFL calibre head coach, so you concerns for us should mirror your concerns for Tampa. What's that? In your opinion he and Freeman are the best things to have happened to Tampa...ever?! Shock horror, you think one way about your team, we are bound to think differently, just like this whole post.

All you have done is create a post with lots of imagery like 'staring down a barrel of a gun' to try and sound more important and as if you are making a great point.

The ridiculous thing about all this is that you have already spelled out our future. Our running game.

No coach, no matter what philosophy, would change the blocking schemes and personal that have created such a feared running attack. It would be completely pointless. You know what else? JR wouldn't hire someone who would just throw away all the commodities he was given, simply because he wanted a WC offense. JR picks his HC very carefully and this whole topic will fall flat on it's face if he promotes from within, because then the schemes will only very slightly change.

So your doom prophecies are kinda mute, because our core is already set, all we need is someone to refine it and make it modern. What Tampa had to do was completely rebuild and you guys are more than a pass rushing DE, RB and RT who does not false start away from contending, especially if Raheem continues to look like a lost puppy.

Oh and you've never heard of Jon Beason? Are you deaf? Blind? Ignorant? NFL network loves his nuts, the public love his nuts by electing him to the pro bowl twice and his peers love his nuts. Not to mention your ignorance of Jordan Gross who ha been voted an All Pro and to numerous pro bowls. So when you have a top 10 LB, WR, LT, RB and a potential franchise QB (not talking Peyton, just someone who will consistently have a 85+ QB rating), you are really not far off at all.

Sigh, why did I bother, you are only going to act like a moron...

How exactly does a 1-0 record indicate that your team can only improve?

It looks pretty now, but wait until the season ends. We're still a very young team with a lot of room to grow and this will be the year where we do it. Those kinds of seasons are never pretty. My prediction is that we will be either 6-10 or 7-9 and that we will beat Carolina both times and split the series with Atlanta. We have to crawl before we walk, and walk before we run. Right now is when we start walking.

I was just throwing out some tame examples, I got plenty more, but I have yet to see anything in the smack forum that even comes close to what I got. I made several football posts and I get no real answers back. You guys come back with crap. Do you guys really talk football here or just badger at each other and pretend to know what you are talking about.

Go read some articles about Carolina from the pre-season games. That should give you some hint what your season is going to look like. Its not pretty, but I see no mention of how bad things really are. Just talk about 2 running backs--is that all you guys have? really? So if team focus on stopping the run, you guys are toast.

Okay, first of all myself and plenty of others have been talking about football. Check the posts before and after your clever comment about pig crap. This isn't the smack forum, and I haven't seen you offer up many pearls of wisdom in this thread.

As to the preseason, you can bet that most of us here were concerned about our lack of offense in the preseason and how that carried over into the Giants game. But how can you acknowledge our lack of offense without acknowledging that we fielded one of the league's best defenses this preseason.

Of course I'm not saying we have the best defense -- just that we've got a ton of potential (and youth) on that side of the ball.

Again, the only real concern I have is our passing game. If we can (and choose to) run the ball this Sunday, I'll be significantly less worried. History shows the Panthers can run it all over the Bucs.

Back to the bus after your loss on sunday .. come on now man you beat the Browns .. the Browns.. Nobody has bragging rights until at least week 6. You can talk about how the team is young, improving yada yada but the fact remains that until it's seen in the W-L Column nobody will believe it.

You might as well have said hey im gonna do exactly what i did last year .. as a Gamecock fan I can say it for you; " Wait till next year". All you are doing is blabbing at the mouth to a crowd of other teams fans that don't care about your teams "potential" no offense to you. I just want to give it to you straight.

I just looked through all eight of your posts, and there was only one post in which you tried to "talk football." It was the one where you said the Bucs offense was more balanced than that of the Giants, and that Mike Williams was better than any receiver on the Giants.

Yeah, I wonder why we don't take jokers like you seriously. Keep it in smack, where other Bucs fans might appreciate your hackneyed jokes about tissues, crying and pig crap.

Simple, we think your team is beatable.

I would be worried about your passing defense or lack thereof. I'm telling you look at Giants offense last season--it was bad. Really bad. Now because of your passing defense, they think they are on fire. They have no real running game and the key to stopping the Giants is putting pressure on Eli. The guy crumbles like a 300 year old brick wall. You guys let him sit back there and throw all over the place. I'm hoping your D plays like that again this week. Give Freeman a lot of time to throw and he will eat you alive. I also think Caddy is darn good himself and if we get any kind of solid lead, he will out rush either one of your backs.

My guess is we will focus on stopping your run game and make Moore win with his arm. Talib and Barber will have great days. I dont think this will be a blowout by any stretch, but you guys think you will walk all over the Bucs, I just don't see it happening. I'm pretty confident that Bucs are the better team and will show it on Sunday.

No way. The Panthers are one-dimensional, and every team in the league knows it.

Someone should have just told that to the Bucs in 2008. You know, when they had the league's best run defense at the time, knew exactly what the Panthers gameplan was, and still couldn't stop them?

Yeah that totally had nothing to do with Monty Kiffin telling the defense a couple of days before the game that he was leaving to go Coach with his idiot son in Tennessee. I'm sure losing their defensive coordinator of 13 years on a whim had no effect on the 4 game losing skid.

And when Tampa crushed Carolina earlier that year, they didn't have anywhere near the offense they had at the end of the season. They bloomed late and on a disheartened defense. The monumental failure of Tampa's four game skid was ridiculous.
