Why 2010 Means Nothing to the Carolina Panthers (no smack)

So basically you are saying....Tampa Bay rebuilt and STILL SUCKS ASS. Therefore, the Panthers should now do the same thing.

Sorry dumbass...we chose to reload and still be successful. We will NEVER use the Bucs as a roadmap to do anything. the only thing TB has done is build a franchise around sucking ass for decades.

Enjoy the ass kicking on Sunday...after that, we won't hear from you again.

We rebuilt from nothing. We had crusty veterans instead of drafting new ones.

The problem was our general manager, who put no faith in the draft and brought in old guys (Jeff Garcia, Kevin Carter, Tim Brown, Charlie Garner, among dozens of others).

We were the oldest team in the league.

Look what Bruce Allen is doing to the Washington Redskins, runningbacks they brought in the offseason were: Brian Westbrook, Larry Johnson and Willie Parker. And that's just one position.

That's why we failed. I'm owning up to that, all we had was defense thanks to Monty Kiffin.

John Fox is your problem. You're too one dimensional and everyone sees it but you guys.

Don't make this about me.

Soup put fourth HIS analysis about YOUR fav. team. And you attack the poster instead of the post.

In the 24 hours I have been in here, I have yet to see you post ANYTHING that advances a discussion about Football.

Do you have anything to say about the OP or not?

Put up or shut up!

I simply understand why you all feel the need to come here and attempt what youre doing. Its ok. Dont get mad when youre not taken seroiusly after you come to this board and spew ignorance about the team YOU are a fan of. Valid or not no one here gives a damn. If yesterdays total collapse of your fellow posters wouldnt have happened you might have received some good discussion. Its probably just not gonna happen now. So come down off your high horse and relax. The only reason I am on this board is to make it as unpleasant as possible for trolls like you.

By the way you continually harp on what you perceive as the Panthers weakness makes me think it is actually your way of boosting your false sense of confidence in your failure of a team. Your posts stink of Denial and failure!

He stinks of denial? I don't see you coming up with any counter arguments against his points! Lemme ask you something..... what's your team going to be like NEXT year?

Who will be your QB?

Who are you going to throw to other than Steve Smith? The greatness that is the mighty Dwayne Jarret and Brandon LaFell?

Are you gonna be able to re-sign your boy DeAngelo Williams, or have to leave Stewart on his own?

Think Beason's gonna want a big ass pay day after next year?

I'm sensing a pattern here..... might it be time for some change in Carolina? Something along the lines of "hang onto what is useful and change the rest"?

What plans do the Panthers have right now in their future that's going to make them a better team next year than this year?

My Bucs made the conscious decision to build a younger team by taking full advantage of one the deepest drafts in recent memory. Will we struggle? Maybe.... will we be a better next year because of these decisions? Oh HELL yes!

Soup is waiting for his pie and bacon!

Our team is built off of our drafts the past few years (35 out of 53 players are guys that were drafted or brought in as undrafted FAs). Sounds like you want your team to follow our roadmap. We have built a sound core of guys that have either made Pro Bowl or will be soon (see Beason, Gross, Stewart, D Williams, Smith, Kalil, Otah, Wharton, Davis (even though on IR), Gamble). We are only missing 2 or 3 pieces, IMO, of being a perennial power house (since we are youngest team in NFL)

I don't think you can compare the two situations...After the '08 when Gruden was fired, Tampa was a much older team with far fewer established young stars than Carolina. After Carolina stomped the Bucs on Monday night, they collapsed. It was a good move to go young for Tampa because the team was old and pricey. Now they seem to be heading in the right direction (and I don't see how beating the Browns can give you any room to come here and talk about our team but whatever) but you can't look at the Panthers and say the situations are even comparable.

Fox has had the team respectable every year he's been the coach. He had to clean up a 1-15 mess and did a fantastic job. The only knock on him is being too conservative and being unable to run an offense that can pass the ball. His defenses are always fairly solid and the running game has carried the team. Fox is still sticking to that philosophy but again, his inability to create a potent passing attack is holding him back from being an elite coach. I don't see the Panthers losing on Sunday and I think you should hold your comments back until the rebuilding job done down in Tampa pays off.

Tampa Bay has ONE or two good years in the history of a losing and pathetic franchise, and now Buc fans are experts? The only expertise I would expect from the Buccaneers is exactly what you mentioned. Rebuilding, which is what the team has been doing throughout it's existence. You can't rebuild without losing it all first, and lets face it...the Bucs haven't won a thing since 2002-2003 season. It took them how long to rebuild? 5 or 6 years right? We dumped a lot of our old weight last year.

lol at this thread. I see what you're trying to say, but don't see what your reasoning is to say it.

How is this not smack?

Also, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Fox will be gone after this year, barring some miraculous postseason performance. In either case, your point that the Panthers will do nothing in the next few years with Fox as our coach is irrelevant.

Because it is discussing how we are in a rebuilding year and how the Bucs are ahead of us in that area. It is a grey area but it is a worthy post. I want to see where it goes as I think it could be a great thread.

He stinks of denial? I don't see you coming up with any counter arguments against his points! Lemme ask you something..... what's your team going to be like NEXT year?

Who will be your QB? Moore for now, Clausen once he has simmered long enough

Who are you going to throw to other than Steve Smith? The greatness that is the mighty Dwayne Jarret and Brandon LaFell? We would love to know this ourselves. Definitely one of our missing pieces. Hopefully LaFell will develop into a sold #2 or maybe #1 in a few years.

Are you gonna be able to re-sign your boy DeAngelo Williams, or have to leave Stewart on his own? I say we resign him. If we don't, we will reload at RB. Jim Skipper (RB coach) is one of the best positional coaches in NFL, IMO. Plus we have a lot of upside in Goodson and Sutton.

Think Beason's gonna want a big ass pay day after next year? If he does, we give it to him. He'll be worth every penny as he is the true leader of the whole team, not just the defense.

I'm sensing a pattern here..... might it be time for some change in Carolina? Something along the lines of "hang onto what is useful and change the rest"? We are hanging onto our young talented guys and letting the players go that should have been let go because they are past their prime and/or needed to retire (one of which was K. Vincent, which you guys scooped up). However, I don't expect Fox to be here next year and the next guy will have young nucleus to build off of.

What plans do the Panthers have right now in their future that's going to make them a better team next year than this year? We have cleared a lot of cap space for next year (assuming agreement is made and there will be a cap) and there will be a ton of FA's out there. I think ownership and FO will put some money into some young veterans to fill missing pieces.

My Bucs made the conscious decision to build a younger team by taking full advantage of one the deepest drafts in recent memory. Will we struggle? Maybe.... will we be a better next year because of these decisions? Oh HELL yes!

Soup is waiting for his pie and bacon!

I answered your questions with my opinions in blue

    • At this rate, maybe he'll be a decent 8-9 QB on his 3rd HC by year 6. Standards are so low around here now. Tepper has done some serious damage to the fan base.
