Why 2010 Means Nothing to the Carolina Panthers (no smack)

I read 57 somewhere in the Smack Forum. I know they were making a damn big deal about how "some of the Panthers fans were brave enough to venture on to their terrain". Pathetic.

They have been lobbying the whole time to get us over there. Posting some crazy half-assed poo then saying how we should come to their MB to learn how to post real stuff, please.

Yes they are trying to recruit for there board. It is pretty lonely over there.

And the Panties fans collectively shove their nappy foot in their mouth.

Go ahead and ban me, i seriously don't care. You guys are bottom feeding this year. Might as well start watching college and preparing for your high draft pick that may not even work in your system after Fox is shown the door.

Congrats losers.

Trust him -- he's a Bucs fan.

At this point I would normally congratulate you on the win and maybe point out a few things I admired about the Bucs today, but I usually only do so when we have classy fans on this board.

This go 'round, pretty much none of you Bucs fans were at all classy. You are shaping up to be like the Saints fans of '08 -- you show so much promise en route to an 8-8 season that it goes to your heads. I guess that's not surprising, given how horrible the Saints and Bucs have been in recent years.

So instead of congratulating you, I'll tell you to fug off and go hang out on your shitty message board (no smack).

Not all of us feel like dishing out smack. I saw last week that just about anything being posted by a Bucs fan was being taken as smack, so I stayed out. I pretty much have to agree with you Panthers fans that you have better players from several drafts ago than do the Bucs, and despite our win today, better prospects for this season, due largely to the fact that our offensive line is so thin.

I had also agreed with your general opinion that our head coach was in over his head last season and might always be so. I wonder after these two games whether he's treading water or actually making progress, but at least he's not drowning. Perhaps if the Bucs beat a team destined for the playoffs because of Morris' coaching I'll stop wondering but even now that's a big if for me.

As for the rebuilding process, there's way, way too far to go in this season to even dream about how to progress from here, 14 regular season games at a minimum and free agency after with a possible work stoppage for the season after that render most of these arguments moot.

And only because it was mentioned so prominently in this thread while I lurked, your board has approximately ten times as many registered users as the one where most of these people came from, while it is about five times older. 574 isn't 57, but it isn't the close to 5500 members you guys have. Since I split my time between that site and BucsChat, it's not a big deal to me one way or the other.

And with that, I'll take my leave until November. Good luck until then.

Not all Bucs fans (or boards) are the same. Just as I have seen some trashy boards for the Panthers, we have our fair share too. It's unfortunate, but please don't let a few bad apples from a tiny board speak for the rest of us. We currently have a great relationship with your board and ours (pewter report) with our NFC South Pick Challenge and have to say I have been treated great by your members.

I just read a thread on our board speaking highly of Carolina fans for their classy behavior after the loss, as opposed to the Browns fans. It is certainly a better place to go for rival fans than most stadiums (Eagles, Browns, etc). Who knows how the rest of the season plays out, but regardless of the current situation and some of the threads I have seen recently from Bucs fans on your board, there should be a level of respect displayed when visiting rival boards. I for one do not agree with them or their behavior and would like to point out, there is typically a reason why some people stick to the tiny boards...because we don't want them on ours any more than you do.

Thanks for the continued respect you have shown me and others and good luck with the rest of the season (well, at least all but week 10...lol)

awesome post from another team's fan

i just read about an hour of this forum and although some of the bucs fans were talking serious smack, they turned out to be right about how bad we looked yesterday. Let's be serious guys, we looked really bad against (no disrespect bucs fans) what i perceive to not be a very good team. I'll be surprised if we win more than 5. I hope I'm wrong!

Just noticed this thread, and I'll say most Bucs fans I've encountered in my life have been the classiest of our 3 division rivals. The OP of this thread, and a few of the sheep that followed over here to comment on his post are the exceptions to the rule. People like Xandtar are what I'm familiar with, in regards to Bucs fans.

Good jobs yesterday, Bucs. You earned that win, especially Freeman. Strap up and be ready for the next game, you'll have Clausen to face then, for better or worse (looks like better, for the time being).

I'm hoping, and anticipating, that this move is similar to what should have happened last year after the Eagles game, then after the Bills and Jets games. Most of us believe, myself included, we could have easily been a playoff team if Moore had started week 2. Not gonna go that far this time, but I am glad they didn't drag out the torture again this year and hope it leads to similar results as the QB replacement last year.

Difference between us and the Bucs is the Bucs let the core talent decay to the point that they had to do a major roster purge all at once. We've done a better job of continuing to aquire and cultivate talent than Tampa, nobody preferred vets more than Gruden and Tampa paid for it.

After enduring a 3-13 season Tampa is on the way back up now. We may go 7-9 or 6-10 this year but I doubt we will ever bottom out like Tampa did. We will be heading into next season (or whenever football is played again) with a young, talented core of players and a top of cap space so we can fill in the blanks. We will also have a new coaching staff and that will breath new life into this franchise.

Sorry buddy, I know misery loves company but we will never bottom out like the Bucs did last year.
