If Fox does not adjust his staff this offseason....

I simply don't see any changes made because as stated ad nauseum for a few years now, Fox is too stubborn. If he felt that the zone defense we play was too soft, it would have been changed by now. The fact that it took until way too late into the last game to adjust tells me all I need to know about how Fox feels. Yes, we did win 12 games this season playing that same zone, but we can all agree that it wasn't that stellar bend-but-don't-break scheme that got us there. Fox will never be a coach that goes for the jugular, and I fear that we will have to live with that for a few more seasons at least.

Are u implying that the big cat won't be with us. Because if that is the case isnt that a bit negative and premature.

I think it means the moon will fall and the sun will rise and a howling will occur to decide the true coach of the Panthers.

or maybe I read into that too much?

Perhaps he was just saying Jerry Richardson will never fire Fox? Hmm....

how is it premature? he's on the donor list for a new heart.

it's not like that indicates a clean bill of health.

JR and family does realize that the Panthers defense has become stale and predictable. They are just waiting to see if Coach Fox has figured that out too. If Fox doesn't show some leadership and upgrade his coaching staff then look for the JR to find a head coach in 2010 who is more situationally aware.

Who's crystal ball have you been peering into?

Fox is safe. The AZ game was " a bad day to have a bad game ". 12-4, NFC South Champs is what counts.

Personally I think we had a great shot of going all the way this year. Looking at next years schedule is scary.

Let's not forget the following year (I think) is uncapped. JR will not pay to have the biggest names here. Then there's talk of a strike season after that. It may be a good while before we sniff the Playoffs again. This may have been our best chance for a good bit and Fox and Jake blew it.

Does that mean he is going with a sink / stay afloat strategy for next year? It appears that the guy is stubborn as hell about changing anything but I am certain he has to feel his job is on the line if this team struggles next year.... Coaches are not indispensible, Shanahan got fired who was a legend in Denver for his stubborn and controlling ways.

If fox does not adjust his staff in this offseason, we can see yet another year of 20s ranked defense, because he certainly won't fire Trgo.
