Panthers sign FB Nehemiah Broughton

Doc Holiday

He's had a few injuries over the last few years but I like this signing. I think this guy is more than just camp filler... I wanted him in the '05 draft after seeing him at the combine. They were comparing him during the combine to Brandon Jacobs. The guy is HUGE and runs the 40 in 4.6, he also was pretty productive at the Citadel. Washington has a had a pretty good stable of RBs, so regardless, I think it was hard for him to get in.

I believe he will replace Goings or Hoov. Watch.

    • I appreciate your in depth look at it but I think there is a lot of stuff you bring up that he brings on himself.  He drops too deep to try to see over the line which creates a lot more pressure on the line.  He also has no feel for the pocket and pretty regularly bails on a clean pocket or shifts in a direction that puts more pressure on the line.  #1 though no matter how many excuses we want to make for him,  he has to stand on his tiptoes to see over nfl lines which makes his throws entirely have to come from his arm and when you factor that's the only place his throwing power can come from with that issue,  he's never going to have an arm that's nfl capable.  It's as simple as that.
    • And if you want a good podcast to listen to how bad it was and still is in the NBA, listen to the "Whistleblower" podcast. Very eye opening
    • Shoot, I just thought of an even better comparison, especially considering I've always said my personal comp for T-Mac is AJ Green. In 2011 the Bengals took AJ Green Their QB at the time, NOBODY, as Palmer had already told them he was going to retire. The QB's they passed on, Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, and Christian Ponder.  None of those guys panned out, but they were all liked very much in the draft process (well at least the first 2, think Ponder might have been a head scratcher at the time if I remember correctly lol) They then took Dalton in the 2nd and had their QB/WR combo for the next decade.  Sure they never got over the hump, but they obviously don't regret doing it.
