Loved Nirvana. Big part of my childhood and HUGE influence on the grunge music era that was the 90s.

Also, they helped Dave Grohl step into his career as a drummer and move onto the Foo Fighters, who is/was also a great band. I dont listen to them anymore, but I did a lot back in the day.

I like Creed a lot, but i always make fun of how certain songs of theirs sound very similar. Have this ongoing joke with a friend where I'll start singing 'Higher' or something then he'll jump in on key with 'With Arms Wide Open'.

But I don't see how anyone wouldn't like Creed. The lyrics are simple and the hooks are spot on. Even has that cliche grunge voice (credit Eddie Vedder) and the sound just works.

They catch a lot of criticism from the indie crowd for not being experimental or having some religious references in their lyrics, but I think that's more a problem with their obsessions. Creed is WYSIWIG. The band name and the time they entered the scene with the sound they have says it all. Still, the songs sound great.

I think it's interesting Creed catches so much slack for summing up the Grunge scene/making a pop-grunge scene but you no one gives as much criticism to the White Stripes (boring band imo with a few good songs) and their clear Zeppelin influence or The Killers (i'm a huge fan) and their use of 80s synth and pop.

Please do not put Led Zeppelin in the same paragraph as Creed. They don't deserve that.

Yea that angers me, Creed was absolute trash. Right up there with Staind and Limp-Bizkit though I will say LB's first cd wasn't terrible. How someone can mention Creed with such great bands boggles my mind. I would also throw Sublime into the Nirvana Pearl Jam duo for best bands of the 90's. I know it's not part of the grunge/seattle scene but I love me some Sublime.... Just my opinion though....
