Yeah he is calling you out

There was 10 yr old Eagles fans talking poo to me. Took all I had in me to bite my tongue.

Why? Were the they without a parent or an adult? It is my firm belief that if I am kicked in the back, yelled at, etc..etc...at a sporting event then it is their parent or adult who gets my wrath.

Loved this article. I do not like many of the articles they write, but this one is right on the money. Pretty much calling most of our fanbase out, which is awesome.

He did say a lot of them are bandwagon, which is true, but most of our fans are fairweather in my opinion. They could care less about our team, but the second we start winning, all of the sudden they were "there all along" and "knew this team was going somewhere"

After the game Sunday, my friend here in Charlotte told me he would be watching the Chargers from now on this season. Needless to say, there was a VERY heated conversation which followed that comment which ended in him telling me he was going this weekend anyways (after he blatantly admitted he was going to jump on the chargers bandwagon) and me telling him we didn't want him there because only real fans are allowed in the stadium and giving up on your team after 1 game is utterly unacceptable if you are a fan.

find new "friends" cuz youre only as good as the company you keep

No, which is why he said:

That wasn't at the end of the article. After saying that he went on say:

A quarterback is the most beloved player on the field. And then he has a bad game. And then he is evil. He’s not even regular evil. He’s pure evil. Never liked the guy. Never saw what others saw in him. Then he has a good game and he is beloved again. Never doubted him. Never will.

A quarterback is not nearly as fragile as our allegiance is.

Then he says :

When the Panthers took Jimmy Clausen with their first draft pick in April, I wrote that he eventually would be Carolina’s quarterback.

SO he admits that all fans everywhere are just like this. He admits by saying that he wrote that Clausen will be the starter earlier that he fueled some of the controversy. Then he castigates fans for being on the fence.

Seems to me we are just a product of all the articles and media that he and others wrote. He is feeding the ambivalence as well.

But he probably won’t be Sunday. If Moore is able to play against Tampa Bay, he will play.

There is no quarterback controversy.

There are simply thousands of fans who will watch carefully before deciding whether to get back on a bandwagon they deny they ever were on.

I'm sure Moore can understand why fans would start to turn on him when he has a game like the one he had last week...

As a fan, I reserve the right to support the players that perform well. I don't care why Matt didn't perform well, that's not my problem. If Matt can't get it done then screw him, I want Clausen... if Clausen can't get it done then screw him too, I want someone else... this is my perogative as a fan. Matt is a great guy, met him in person - this is not personal it's business and I'm in the business of wanting to see my team win.

Yeah it is a start Jimmy post. LOL

The reality is that Clausen was drafted because he was a steal at the position he was picked and we needed a backup at the time when we got rid of Delhomme. Picking him up doesn't mean he will be the starter. Most of that speculation has been fueled by the fact he is signed for 4 years and is cheap. If Moore has a good rest of the year and Richardson opens up the wallet, Moore could be here next year.

And your last paragraph is the most sage. Most folks think Fox is gone for sure. Whoever comes in will likely bring in a veteran or keep Moore is he plays well and will see Clausen as a third option. Unless of course the new coach gets a long-term deal, Richarson stays cheap and we are clearly in a rebuilding year.

Sorry, but also drafting Pike disproves some of that. Clausen, on paper, is supposed to be a success in the NFL. You don't use a second round pick on some dude to be your life long back up. You do that in later rounds...like we did with Pike. When you use a second round pick on a QB...you're very interested in him. I mean, we NEEDED wr help, right? Moore was the starter, right? So why did they draft a QB then? Exactly. If Moore plays great, GREAT. Like I mentioned. Sign him to a long term deal. But they drafted Jimmy because they weren't 100% behind Matt. It's up to Matt to win his spot here, otherwise Clausen gets his chance at least.

And no, it is not a "PLEASE" start Clausen thread because I want the better QB on the field no matter who it is. I just think it's wise to do so if Moore struggles because Matt's contract is out at the end of the year, Clausen's is not. I don't think either is that much better than the other, but damn, if they think Clausen has a shot here they may as well throw him in.

And yes he will struggle and the Clausen Haters will have a field day with it.

I think this article is WAAAAY out of touch. I wouldn't say our fanbase has completely turned on Moore yet. In fact, I wouldn't say MOST fans have turned on him. Maybe a large minority have (40%?), but not most by all means.

The only fans who are bashing Moore right now are:

1. People who don't understand how the NFL works, and don't get that good, even great QBs can have a bad game.

2. People who don't understand how the NFL works, and don't see that our running game was about as bad as our passing game, which indicates O-line issues.

3. People who don't understand how the NFL works, and don't realize we have a really bad Wide Receiver corp.

4. People loyal to #17, and will always hate Moore because he supplanted Delhomme.

5. People who are sensationalists and don't have loyalty to much of anything anyway.

For the rest of us, the jury is still out on Moore. He has potential, but until he can elevate the play of the poor play of his team-mates, we're just cautiously waiting. That doesn't mean we're ready to sacrifice him.

P.S. On the contrary... I predicted this exact thing would happen before our preseason even ended.

Before it's all over, I fear Moore, a good QB, WILL be sacrificed because our shitty Front Office didn't get him the weapons or protection he needed.

I'll correct this for you. The people who don't support Moore right now are some of the people who use chat rooms, reply to blogs, go on message boards, and reply to columns in the Observer. I can't even fathom how many fans there are that don't do that. There is no way to read a fan base other than hearing cheers or boos on game day, and even that doesn't work. That's just 70,000.

lol, wtf

ahahahaha I saw that! Weirrrrddd....

How about the other guy earlier asking

"i wonder who call the play on the offense because if you watch that game the panther offense play caller call the same play all day now how can we win any game if the keep doing the same thing over and over again"

Edit: I can hear the redneck accent in my head as I am reading it.
