For the record, I've never backed Moore. He reminds me too much of Delhomme.

Just curious as to how Matt Moore managed to remind you of Delhomme before this game? To me there were no comparisons that could've been made until now. Even now it's one game versus about 3-4 years worth of them with Jake.

And how'd he feel after his new team lost to the Chiefs? At least the Panthers lost to a legitimate team last weekend.

hahaha believe me, I gave him some crap for that. Although Rivers did get me a good amount of fantasy points :)

Oh and wow. A basement joke from Mr Sorensen. I'm impressed(!)

"NPH wouldn't do that!"

he hasn't done anything so far this season to show that he is playing like he did last year...and yes, i'm looking at preseason as well. what we saw on sunday wasn't much better than we saw before sunday.

he could get things straight for sure and that game was uncharacteristic of what we have seen in the past, but imo, he hasn't done anything to deserve a pass on that crap he slung on the field on sunday either. giving him until the bye week would be more than generous. like i said, it's on him to show that he can turn the lemons that he was given as far as receivers and playcalling into lemon-aid. i'm not going to let my man-love for him in the past cloud my vision. he has done nothing yet to deserve my turning a blind eye. the fact that he is playing the bucs this week likely won't do much to impress me. if he does well he should have because it's the bucs. if he doesn't do well against them then the leash should be even shorter.

I'm actually giving him a pass on preseason for one reason. They where evaluating the WR and not running the ball like they should. Give me a good running game game and if Moore sucks still then I might agree with you.

I see what you and saying and would agree with you if Moore's body of work justified it. But this was his first actual bad game. Like I said if he sucks the 3-5 games then yeah pull him. Moore isnt a great QB but he is a good game manager which is what Fox likes. He wont win alot of games for us he just doesnt need to lose them for us. Clausen might be different but right now he doesnt need to see the field.

I fully expect a great game Sunday. I expect the secondary to play like they did last year and I expect Moore to be perfect or close to it.

Excellent points in this and the opening post Squirrel. When Jake really started coming apart was after the 'zona loss. IMHO. The long tenuous L/H relationship got ugly when he showed that the miracle surgery had NOT cured the main issue...himself.

Funny, like Jake, Moore is a good guy, but also maybe a bit too sensitive about his position here, since his "instant replacement" was hyped all over. Job security started killing Jake in 2009 and led to his meltdown...I hope we do not see a redux of a good QB goin' bad Sunday. His balls must be huge this week, and his greed intense!

After the game Sunday, my friend here in Charlotte told me he would be watching the Chargers from now on this season.

LOL... I hope your friend enjoyed watching his newly beloved Chargers get their ass handed to them by the mighty KC Chiefs

which bandwagon will he jump on next... the SF 49ers?

You bunch of whiners. I was one of the biggest Jake haters on this board but my hate for Jake didnt start after he played 6 games. It wasnt until I saw him make the same mistakes over and over and over and not learning. We have to give Moore a chance he has earned it and if he doesnt learn from his mistakes in 3-5 games then yes he should be pulled.

If you had to wait 6 games, you weren't a true Delhomme hater.

Same 'gunslinger' attitude: locks onto receivers, thinks he has a bigger arm than he actually does, doesn't read the defence well etc etc.

did any of you guys see rivers in the cheifs game last week? you can love that guy or hate him, but he is a leader. he was in total control and when guys weren't running their routes right or lineman were committing penalties he was right in their face.

moore's biggest question mark to me is whether or not he is a leader. the more people go out of thier way to say what a great leader he is makes me question even more why they have to do so. it should come across on the field and it does not. i agree with most he looks like a backup qb out there that is just another player on the offense.

the biggest difference between him and clausen IMO is not ability it's the "it" factor. you can tell from the interviews that clausen is behind moore but uncomfortable or out of place on the sidelines. he wants to be on the field as soon as possible. he is hungry. i think that mentality is what you need to be a successful quarterback in the NFL.

Rivers is an absolute stud, I agree. If he manages to make the Chargers a playoff team again with the lackluster effort of the other players around him for the rest of the season, he should win his first MVP. With that being said, let's cool down with comparing him and Clausen until Clausen actually does something on the field. Let's also not forget that no one wanted to be on the field or had as much fire as our starter from day one last season, but well, we saw how that turned out.

I don't think Moore has had a fair shot to be a leader. The times he's played other than the season opener were in games where the team already knew it was out of playoff contention or in games Jake did so bad he got to come in. If the team starts winning games and has an opportunity to accomplish something, I think we'll see a different Moore.

I think the best thing I have heard to describe Moore was on The Fan the other day when I was listening in my car. Moore is not the kind of quarterback who can win games by himself just throwing the ball, he is more of a "game manager" and if all the other guys on the field are doing their job, he can be successful as a QB. He can run the game by making sure everyone is doing what they need to be doing and throwing when necessary. This was not shown on Sunday b/c our Oline wasn't doing their job and neither was our O.C.
