I have bought tickets from scalpers for Wake Forest games, never had a problem. I wouldn't do that for Panther games, because I am coming from Winston and no way I am going there without a ticket. But if you are local, give it a try.

BTW, if the ticket is below face value, its not illegal.

I've always wanted to go down there and get a ticket from a scalper, but my luck would be I would get a fake one. Are there really a lot of people out there selling fake Panther tickets?

I've never heard of anyone getting a fake ticket from a scalper at a Panthers game.

Actually, the state of North Carolina allows anyone selling tickets to impose a "service charge" not to exceed $3 per ticket. But it would be a deal breaker if anyone tried- there is a much larger supply of tickets on game day than there is a demand. Less than half the games every year do tickets become a little more difficult to get, but they're still out there...

And I also have never heard of anyone getting a counterfeit ticket in Charlotte.

Nor have I ever been to a game and not been able to come up with a ticket if I had to. We've taken friends down with us every season and found them tickets a couple hours before game time.

You can get everything from endzone upper deck to 50 yard line Clubs from scalpers. You may have to search for a little while if you have a particular seating area in mind.
