How does Huddle feel about female reporters?

Yea, and you probably think she might deserve it if she got raped, right?

Wow. I don't know what part of my post would lead you to believe I feel that way. The point I thought I clearly made was simple. If you are using your sexuality to get where you want to go, you must realize that not all people whom you encounter will be classy toward you. Egotistical athletes being at the forefront of that statement. As I said earlier, my lady is a dancer. As such, not a night goes by that some douchebag acts as if she is a hooker and asks for a blowjob. She laughs and that's that. It comes with the territory of the profession she has chosen, and she doesn't let it bother her.

This reporter is not the one who complained.

Sure is alot of animosity...negative rep?? What the heck did I do?? I never said that if a girl dresses a certain way she is ASKING for it, and I think they should have the same locker room access males do (and YES, men do HAVE access to women's locker room..soccer, basketball).

My real point was I dont like hearing them on the sidelines because most of them are just pretty fluffs talking football which I would bet they don't understand.

As far as the Ines situation, she never said anything about it, it was other reporters that brought the mess up. I dont think she was 'asking' for it, BUT I also think she needs to be a professional, and that includes how she dresses. What the Jets players did MAY have been over the line, I think it was gently compared to what has happened in the past.

Which I mentioned in my earlier statement. I said it didnt seem like she was all that offended or insulted. It's other female reporters making a big deal of it. If you want to talk about power hungry people who use the genuine plight of others to further their own careers and agendas like Al Sharpton for African Americans, Gloria Allred for bitter divorced wives, and the ACLU for every liberal hippie in America, well that's a whole other conversation in and of itself.

Have you ever thought that it's the "pretty women" who GET the jobs in this field ... whether they're "serious" or not?

I cannot believe (well, yes, I can, unfortunately) that in 2010 we're still talking about this crap.

I'm not getting your point, unless you're saying only female reporters that are 'hot' get the jobs. In that case you may be right... But it still doesn't take that responsibility of holding the position off of those 'hot' reporters shoulders, because they still had to seek out that job. If you know you look good, you know it works to your advantage, which leads a lot of these women into this field - whether they see it as a stepping stone to something bigger, take it seriously b/c they enjoy sports, or are just looking to strike gold...

I respect women and in any kind of work environment there is absolutely no room for harassment of any kind to any worker. The Jets want to promote their team, the NFL wants to promote its brand, so reporters are allowed in the locker room. Whether that person is knowledgeable or not is irrelevant and doesn't justify the described behavior by some Jets players in this incident.

I get irritated when they go to the sideline and we listen to some girl ask a coach or player some question.

“Coach, how do you feel your Cover 2 defense is doing after giving up 21 points?”

Just ONCE I wish the player/coach would respond with “you tell me what a Cover 2 defense is and I will answer your question”.

If I were the player my response would be: I'll answer your question, but first you answer this for me. BITCH WHY THE fug AREN'T YOU IN THE KITCHEN MAKIN' ME A SAMMICH? Then I'd take the mic from her, throw it on the ground, smack her on the ass and tell her to go.

If that actually happened, I would never erase it from my DVR. That would be some funny poo to see. The only thing that would make it funnier would be if you added "If you smell what the franchise is cookin" at the end.

Of course you'd be blackballed from the league and bankrupt, but the book deal would probably bet you a pretty penny.

I don't see the humor in this. You wouldn't think it's funny to playfully hit a black reporter on the back with a belt and say, "Why aren't you picking my cotton?". It's just ignorance and another form of discrimination.

    • Man that was awful.  Completely killed my NBA fandom in a way that will never recover. I loved that Hornets team.  The Bobcats were the worst possible replacement.
    • OK, so this is a bit weird.  When I coached at Salisbury High School when I first started teaching, I used to go over to Catawba College to watch film and talk football with their coaches.  They were great. Curtis, Jalon's father, I assume, was a LB at Catawba and hired as LB coach by Bennett When Coastal started their program, they hired Catawba's coach Bennett.  Bennett must have taken Jalen's father with him to Coastal. I am guessing that is about the time Jalon was born and why he was in Conway. So then his father comes back to Salisbury after Jalen is born and takes the head coaching job. Jalen is a good interview.  I love the kid based on this, and I have heard good things from former colleagues of FB.  Salibury (when I was there) was a very rough school.  Gangs, drugs, etc.  To put it in perspective, I was there for 2.5 years and I had four (4) students in my class (at different times) who committed murder during that time. A girl was raped in the gym by a few boys.  One night, after a game (there is a road between the coaches offices in the gym and the rest of the school) the coaches watched film until 1 AM or so.  When we were leaving to walk to our cars parked across that street, we noticed a car sitting in the middle of the road about 100 yards away with its lights off.  The driver took off when we neared the street, so we all hit the ground.  As the car passed, we heard about 6 or 7 gunshots.  The next day, the van behind where we fell to the ground had 2 bullet holes in it, about 5 feet above the ground.  All that to say this:  If the young man on the video endured anything like that, I want him to succeed and I found it interesting that he mentioned playing for the Panthers.  I am not sold on the player as a fit here based on our needs, but I am sold on the person.  Very proud of him for some reason that many may not understand.
    • First off, he's not even eligible for a contract yet.  You have to play three years. And thank goodness! All we saw last year were glimpses.  Yes, those glimpses were enough that I think every fan wants to see him come back next year.  But bottom line is that so far, with only a couple games worth of exceptions, he hasn't yet shown that he's a FRANCHISE QB.  He hasn't shown the consistent ability to elevate the players around him. He could be the guy.  After week two of this year, just saying that much is a massive, massive positive swing.  But let's see him put it together for 17 games.  Let's see him make the people around him BETTER.  Then we can talk about extending him. Let's not lose sight of the fact that thus far in his career, in no season has BY exceeded the rookie stats of MAC JONES. We should  be excited for the possibility, but we certainly haven't seen yet what we need to see to declare we have our guy.
