I think the sideline reporting is fine, and I find several of the women sideline reporters to be knowledgeable. And if you've ever heard Linda Cohn talk sports off of Sportscenter, she's pretty knowledgeable. As far as in the locker room, I think Portis is just saying what most players want to say and don't have the guts.

Portis is good for providing the 'real' on his interviews, whereas most other guys give the status quo answer and keep it PC. If you've played athletics on any level, particularly after high school, but even some there, you know you're typically more popular with the ladies. Additionally, if you didn't play sports after high school and just attended a university, watch how a great deal of the ladies act around the athletes. It's really disgusting... They want a piece of the 'shine.'

Prime example, go to google my friends... Type in any players name and watch the suggested searches give you "girlfriend" after their name... SMH...

Again, this isn't all women, because I believe some of the women reporters that actually go into locker rooms are serious about their craft. But, I believe a bigger number of them, especially ones that are coincidentally HOT, are in it for other reasons. And I'm not just saying this as if women reporters are predatory gold diggers, it's not good for either side. I don't remember how many times I saw Pam Oliver in her hot pre-plumper days get hit on in interviews and sort of entertained it.

You really think Portis would go out on a limb and say that, knowing the flack he's going to get if he doesn't have some previous experience with it or knowledge of it.

Should men be allowed in women's locker rooms when reporting?

It's just not a formula for good things to happen.

EDIT: And I'd like to add the Jets have shown that their locker room is comprised of d-bags for what they did, but if you look up Ines, tell me you think she's legitimately about sports... smh... The Jets get whatever they deserve but being a reporter taking provocative photos isn't screaming 'I'm about reporting/journalism, PERIOD.' It makes it seem more like a side-job until something better comes along.

I have to respectfully disagree with the broad generalization that Mexican women and American women all have different views on what's appropriate in the workplace. Also, Erin Andrews career didn't blow up until she showed up naked on the Internet. Just like Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton and I promise you in a few months, Ines Sainz. Maybe not a sex tape, but you can bet your bottom dollar that she'll be in Playboy and make bookoo dollars on it. And that's good for her. I've got no beef with that. I've never in my life bought a girl a drink at a bar because she looked like she was smart or had a nice personality. On the flip side, those same women I'm buying drinks for dress the way they do so they don't need to spend money on drinks all night. So when the self-proclaimed "Hottest sports reporter in Mexico" (not smartest or hardest working mind you, but hottest) uses her sexuality to get ahead in life, you're just going to have to realize sometimes you'll get cat calls and immature guys doing immature things. It's just the nature of the beast. That being said, it didn't seem like she was really insulted or humiliated by the comments/actions of the players. It seemed more like the media making a story.
