Is quarterback Jimmy Clausen ready to lead Carolina Panthers?

Eventhough I am on the Jimmy Clausen band wagon I don't think he is ready to start just yet. To Moore's credit the guy doesn't really have many options to go to at Wide receiver..Who the hell is Jimmy Clausen going to throw it to with lineman in his face at all times? Dwayne Jarret? LOL

The WR's actually did a very nice job Sunday, Lafell dropped one pass, Smitty dropped one pass and I'm sure Jarrett run a wrong route or two but caught 2 out of three thrown his way. I don't think any team would be complaining about their WR's after a game like ours had. It could have been much better if the ball wasn't over thrown, under thrown (wonder if Lafell is just to fast for Moore to judge the distance he will be at when the ball arrives) or thrown into quadruple coverage.

I don't think anything at all can be pinned on any of the wide receivers after that game! It was all Matt Moore!

P.S. Yes the O-line played like crap, but Moore didn't check down AT ALL, didn't audible AT ALL, looked terribly uncomfortable the whole game. To top it off, all of the INTs happened when he actually had time to survey the field, he just made poor decisions!

People complain about the 5 yard dump downs by Clausen, maybe its because it was the best decision to throw those...just saying :D

Wow.... Steve Smith? That's it? That's the only answer you're going to give me? Damn it sounds like we are in for an easy day if all we have to do is cover just one player.

Smith is going to be double teamed all day, stop fooling yourself. Talib (aka one of the best young DBs in the NFL) is back from his suspension. Your WR thread is also known as the "FML thread" by the looks of it. So what other options are there? And your QB options are either Moore or Clausen. If your run game shuts down then I wouldn't toot my horn too loud buddy. You guys have sucked offensively since preseason (more so than almost any other team) and have shown little signs that you are getting any better.

Turns out Williams ran the ball only 16 times last game. So I'm guessing you all expect to win when your coach gives up on the run game and tries to throw to Smith?

What is there to prove about Mike Williams? Please.. kindly elaborate as to what he has to prove after hitting the highlight reel after his first game? Using "4th round pick" holds no water when arguing a player's performance or abilities. One game doesn't make a career, but what he has proven so far (including preseason) is that he is every bit as effective as any player out there and that one day he will be a massive game changer. Who's to say Benn doesn't break out against you guys if Williams is canceled out? Freeman already made his mistakes against your defense last year, so it comes to his advantage. Maybe he makes his mistakes again, I wouldn't be surprised. But I wouldn't be surprised if he hooks up for a few big plays and makes you look foolish. As for the rebuilt knee bit, Cadillac was running fine last time I saw him, in fact he looked the best I've seen him in years. On these notes: how the hell do you plan to stop any of this when your best defensive player left for Chicago?

This is a battle between two very poor football teams. One has made improvement in all of its biggest areas of struggle from last season while the other lost its QB and most storied defensive player in franchise history.

You're really digging deep into the "what-if" game. Somehow Freeman's 5 picks puts him at an advantage this week? What are you smoking? Give me some.

Who's to say Benn doesn't break out? Same could be said for Jarrett. LaFell could be as much if not more of a game changer than Williams. Good thing for us is, at this point, we need him to be effective, not a #1 receiver.

Who on defense will stop you? How about Jon Beason? Dan Connor? Chris Gamble? Hell I'll bet even Godfrey will look good Sunday.

I would say, if the plays would have worked; i.e. Matty would have thrown TD's instead of pics play calling would be a non issue today. No matter what play is called you have to execute the play and Matt did not!
true but the playcalling set a green QB up for failure.

He's use to a sh*t oline to be fair dude stayed running for his life at N.D. for three years. Looking like girls on Maury running to the green room after "you are not the father" i aint worried about that happening to Clawesome...

The difference is he isn't running from the Dline of Navy or Army anymore...these are real grown men football players
