I gotta admit...

I agree completely with what you are saying about clausen. I hope all works out for moore, but i too am excited to be excited.

the only thing that worries me about clausen is that he is so hesitant to throw the ball. I noticed it during the preseason and with the two passes he attempted sunday. maybe it's the WR's fualt for not being able to get open, but he seems like he is thinking way too much when he drops back before he makes a decision.

might just be because he's a rookie though.

I wish Matt Moore was a lil more hesitant to throw the ball, hes making the same mental errors jake did by trying to force it

Claussen does have some smalls hands though. Def. noticed that when he was doing his practice tosses before entering the game. Was fumbling a problem in ND for him? I hope we get him involved with an intermediate passing game as it looks to be his bread and butter. The play calling from this past Sunday just isn't going to cut it for this team.

I do like that Claussen doesn't have too much ego and will throw it away, but I think he really should have let that last ball fly before we punted from the endzone. An interception probably would have been just as good as a punt there.

He probably assumed that was going to get to throw a hail mary on 4th instead of punting it.

If Clausen does get the start look for him to be very very conservative. He played that way in the preseason for the most part and most certainly wont try and repeat a 3 int game. Side note: If I was going to have Clausen get his first start against anyone it would be the Bucs at HOME.

Carr's career was ruined by being taken #1 by the Texans.

But alot of the really good QB's in this league are highly touted. So cool point.

What ruined Carr was being thrown into the fire too early behind a bad offensive line.

Think about that for a second, then think about what Clausen will be facing if he goes in now.

At this point, Clausen is still all "potential", and in game situations we've seen him do as many throwaways as completions (possibly more if you went back and counted).

I called his preseason performance a tribute to David Carr, and indeed it was. What I don't want to see is him following in those footsteps.

Moore getting hurt is quite possibly the worst thing that could have happened for Clausen. If the coming week plays out like last week did, we could wind up with two busted QBs :(
