One decent thing to take from Sunday

Our kick-off returns.

Goodson had several very good kick off returns, consistently setting ourselves up with short fields.

Baker and the coverage team had a good day as well which was over shadowed by the muffed snap. That was an awful time to have an awful play, but our offence should of taken advantage of all the decent positions our defence and special teams put them in.

Considering we all thought this was an area we would get raped in, I feel it's worth noting. I actually felt optimistic when Goodson was powering ahead.

That is all

I thought there were quite a few positives on Sunday.

Yeah I agree, but this was more of a fact which even nay-sayers should be able to agree with.

I thought our front 7 were exceptional for most of the game, we just got tired in the second half. Connor and Beason were beastly together and even Anderson had a pretty solid game. Martin looked sharp and decisive.

Offensively was pretty bad, but sometimes these things happen and there were still some good moments from the unit.

Honestly the main thing I was concerned with was how little push the OLine was getting and how often they got beaten by stunts etc. Kalil looked...rusty? Our running game will always rely on those big uglies, but then it took them several games to get going the past two seasons, so I am not writing anyone off yet.

    • I agree it does seem the league is against Charlotte but the picks they've made have been questionable. They've had sure fire picks fall to them and they keep trying to build a army of forwards who cannot shoot for some reason lol. You got to make a move in offseason and or trade for scoring. I get the best aren't coming to Charlotte but theres been opportunities at solid players with experience, that would've come just to be the man here in Charlotte. They got to stop over thinking this in the draft too. Take the best scorers available! I'm hearing we need more size on the wing, a big man, great defender, etc. but nothing about scoring or a shot creator. This team has been terrible at shooting the rock especially from the perimeter and its a iso 3 ball league, no one plays defense or really runs an offense. This franchise does not do well with developing players either. I've seen too many guys take huge leaps once they were away from Charlotte which is concerning. And even more concering that they're taking developmental guys when they have no business doing so. So, All that to say take a proven scorer, high basketball IQ guy, a unpolished player will not survive here.
