To hell with it, I still like Jake

I think folks are forgetting that Jake spent ALL LAST OFF SEASON rehabing from the elbow deal.

Now he can focus on getting better this off season. And I dont doubt for one minute that he wont be 150% commited to being a better QB for us.

You dont get to be a starter in the NFL as an undrafted player because you dont want to win or get better.

Jake will be just fine, and I EXPECT better from him.

Everyone talks about guys like Manning but forget the 3-13 season as a rookie and other games like getting killed by the pats in the playoffs.

every QB has growing pains. This is just one for him.

We will be ok.

Can't agree with you on either of those.
Hasselback had a 57.something rating this year and Garrard's had only one good year since he's been in the league. You don't have to agree, but I sure don't see what kind of argument you have for either of them.

Can't stay mad at him--he's done way too much for the franchise to let one game spoil it all.

Who thinks he's going to come out absolutely smoking early next season to remove the stench of the playoff game? A couple of years ago he had an awesome TD to INT ratio, I bet he does it again. :)

I like Jake. Dude had a bad game. End of story.

I really don't think the Tommy John had much ill effect on him this season. If anything, he looked better throwing the ball. Jake's problems are more about his decision-making, and holding the ball a little long. It doesn't help that he hasn't had much help in the QB coaching department.

But you're right... he'll probably work his ass off to get better. Too bad that we can't give him someone better to coach him. For that matter, it's too bad McCown and Moore only have such a poor excuse for a QB coach.

I'm not talking as much physically, I'm thinking more psychologically: he's trying too hard, he's overcompensating, he's trying to prove his worth and in turn makes too many mistakes by forcing plays. I think if he just gets used to his arm, probably (hopefully) gets a bit more accurate he could be Cool Jake like he used to be. (at least when he had really good games). Usually coming back from injury, you have something to prove i.e.. Steve Smith 2005. He probably needs the offseason to settle down.

Why would I smile? I was cursing him and his shitty QBing like I've done for years. I'd take Steve Beuerlein over him 9 out of 10 times.

Why does he deserve my respect? The guy makes millions of dollars only to poo the bed against Arizona....this was ARIfugingZONA. Your kumbayah everything will be ok attitude is nauseating.

Sorry but we havent had our "Joe Montana" yet.

Truth is the truth.......

We haven't had all that long to try yet but hopefully we strike gold one day.(i just hope that isn't at time when our defense really sucks or we have no run game)

It would be our luck to get a badass QB, but surround him with a shitty squad.

Hey, Jake takes this personally. He was broken in the post-game presser. I wanted to hug him. It wasn't his fault except for the funble. The run game that got us to the playoffs was abandoned and the D sucked and put more pressure on him. Fox and Turd deserve all the blame.

What the hell? 5 INTs and a fumble not his fault? You got to be kidding. Every single one of those were his fault. Im tired of people making excuses for him or diverting his bad play to someone else's poor execution.

Let's look at Jake's bad game/game total this year.

The bad games:

Vikings loss

Tampa loss

Atlanta loss

Arizona loss (Giants loss was a good game by jake)

13 good games/17 total games = 76.5% good games per total games.

Who can we get that's better?

No one will answer that question.

No, he had 7 bad games:

Bears win

Vikings loss

Tampa loss

Atlanta loss

Tampa win

Oakland win

Arizona loss
