To hell with it, I still like Jake

Hey, Jake takes this personally. He was broken in the post-game presser. I wanted to hug him. It wasn't his fault except for the funble. The run game that got us to the playoffs was abandoned and the D sucked and put more pressure on him. Fox and Turd deserve all the blame.

The run game got us to where we are, but we have also passed to set up the run on several games.

Showing the ability(or willingness) to throw on first down takes the safety out of the box early.

It's not Davidson's fault that Jake decided to throw it to the Cardinals. If he throws it out of bounds, then we actually have other downs to run it.

Let's look at Jake's bad game/game total this year.

The bad games:

Vikings loss

Tampa loss

Atlanta loss

Arizona loss (Giants loss was a good game by jake)

13 good games/17 total games = 76.5% good games per total games.

Who can we get that's better?

No one will answer that question.

Jake played well in the Atlanta loss.

21 for 35 295yards 1td 0ints and a 12 yard td run.

Babe, I love you, but that's just not right.

Dude, I love you, but that's just not right. He had some shitty games that we actually won. Oakland game leading the charge. I know that we aren't cutting him, nor do I think we should, but the defense and running game saved him a couple of times this season.

The Oakland WIN was a HORRIBLE game......why you leaving that out?(7-27 gtfo)

The Chicago WIN wasn't brilliant either 12-21 0td 1int.(128 yards)

Even in the Tampa WIN he had 2 INTS and the run game clearly won that.

The writing for Jake's terribleness has been on the wall all season, and before any INTs were tossed, it started with all those high throws, and wobbling shitty passes.

To which he still continued to throw way high and wide all season.

This was his first year back from Tommy John. He was obviously supposed to have problems all year long and he did. He sort of has to start over and to think we got to a 12-4 record before we were REALLY hurt by him says a lot about this team. I say Jake works his ass off this offseason and we stay pretty dominant. Sadly I'm more worried about the defense.

The defense is definitely a BIGGER problem than Jake right now.

I really don't think the Tommy John had much ill effect on him this season. If anything, he looked better throwing the ball. Jake's problems are more about his decision-making, and holding the ball a little long. It doesn't help that he hasn't had much help in the QB coaching department.

But you're right... he'll probably work his ass off to get better. Too bad that we can't give him someone better to coach him. For that matter, it's too bad McCown and Moore only have such a poor excuse for a QB coach.

Looking around the league, I would take Kurt Warner, Matt Ryan, Carson Palmer, Jay Cutler, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Schaub, Peyton Manning, Chad Pennington, Drew Brees, Donovan McNabb, Ben Roethlisberger, Philip Rivers, and maybe Jason Campbell over Jake on our roster. Brady Quinn and Joe Flacco would be worth a look too, but they're way too unproven.

Of the other QBs around the league, I would take Jake over J.P. Losman, Trent Edwards, Rex Grossman, Kyle Orton, Ryan Fitzpatrick, Derek Anderson, Tony Romo, Drew Stanton, Daunte Culpepper, Jon Kitna, Dan Orlovsky, Sage Rosenfels, David Garrard, Tyler Thigpen, Tarvaris Jackson, Gus Frerotte, Matt Cassel, David Carr, Eli Manning, Brett Favre, JaMarcus Russell, Byron Leftwich, Charlie Frye, Matt Hasselbeck, Seneca Wallace, J.T. O'Sullivan, Shaun Hill, Marc Bulger, Brian Griese, Jeff Garcia, Vince Young, Kerry Collins, and Matt Leinart in a heartbeat.

That's a lot of starting experience there...
