Antoine Walker(notes) hasn't played in the NBA since he played two preseason games for the Memphis Grizzlies in 2008.

Now the 34-year-old is trying to make an NBA comeback. ESPN reports that he's set his sites on the Charlotte Bobcats since that is where a college friend and former Kentucky teammate, center Nazr Mohammed(notes), is hosting Walker so he can get into some daily Bobcats pickup games before the start of training camp at the end of the month. Walker is apparently hoping the team will extend an invite to him.

MJ could sign him as the 12th or 13th man off the bench. Give him the league minimum, help him get back on his feet.

Exactly. I'm not sure why people are bugging over this. It's not like we'd drop a huge contract on him, or even start him. He'd give us a veteran presence off the bench, and who knows? Maybe he'll get a little bit of his game back from working hard on it.

I don't guess we need him, but it's not like this would be the worst move in the world. Not even close.

    • Some people will shift the goal posts but he does still have to consistently help the team win, eventually. Not only help but be the reason. That's what franchise QB's do.
    • One of the Carolina Panthers' newest defenders thinks their pass rush can go from worst to first. ESPN's David Newton recently chatted with outside linebacker Pat Jones II, who signed with the Panthers as a free agent earlier this offseason. Jones comes over from an awfully impressive Minnesota Vikings defense—one that ranked first in takeaways (33), fourth in sacks (49) and second in QB pressure rate (44.4 percent) this past season. And despite a historically-bad campaign by Carolina's defense in 2024, the 26-year-old seems to believe his new unit can be similar—or even better—than his last. "I definitely think we could do something similar, if not better," Jones said, via Newton. "I've seen it before, so I know what it looks like. I look around the building and see we have exactly what it takes to do that." https://pantherswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/panthers/2025/05/24/panthers-pat-jones-vikings-espn/83840667007/?taid=683219b347846900018fa10a&utm_campaign=trueanthem&utm_medium=trueanthem&utm_source=twitter     It's the offseason.  Let hope spring eternal. (actually, I think we are much closer than this board thinks)
    • 5 total TDs against the Falcons was pretty good efficiency and he showed that ability to go off scripts and get 2 of those TDs rushing.  How many times did he deliver big time throws against pressure.  I agree we need to see this offense operate at high efficiency which starts with Bryce. When he does I hope the goals posts won’t shift to some other stat like QB sneaks lol
