#1 Priority......

coaching/playcalling. Biggest problem from last season. Looks to be a huge issue against this year.

If the Colts go into games and abandon the pass and want to run and pound the rock. It doesn't mean Manning sucks, doesn't mean the running game isn't sufficient for what they do.....it just means the coaches are retarded and didn't play to there strengths.

The Oline can be fixed by making a switch at the QB position. The QB needs to call the right protections and a QB great pocket awareness can make the oline look much better. The great QBs can move in the pocket to buy time and make plays happen.. I don't see that with Moore, but I did see that with Clausen in the preseason.. not saying Clausen is great by any means, but I do think Clausen has the potential to be great, wheras Matt Moore does not. We will learn a lot against the Bucs next week, in terms of the direction our season is going with the QB play of Jimmy.

Just fixing the ints is not enough. That would make us beat the Giants yes but they are a bad team.

If we expect to beat any good teams this season the OL needs to play better in pass protection and be better at opening up running lanes. I want to see lanes so wide and obvious that even my f**king grandma could hobble through them.

We have to beat the bad teams before we can think about beating the good ones. Eliminating the turnovers does that, thus it's the #1 priority. Nothing can be done until that's fixed.

Good point, and luckily the staff can work on fixing all of these at one time.

OL.

Give Matt 4 or 5 seconds to find a receiver every time he drops back and the passing game looks a lot better. The reports of DJ not being a NFL caliber receiver are greatly overstated and with Smitty and Lafell we can get things done if Matt/Jimmy has time.

Likewise if the OL is making holes for the run game Double Trouble is back to averaging 4+ YPC in no time.

This is the classic dog chasing its tail. The offensive line played bad and so did the QB. But it's not often when one plays bad and not the other. A good line will provide time for a QB, but a good QB provides time for the line in a sense by slowing down the rush. For example, Peyton Manning makes his line look better than it is because of how fast he makes decisions. Getting the ball out literally takes pressure off the line. It's a fine balance.

It's easy to say the O-line, but if you KNOW you're having difficulties with the O-line, where were the adjustements?

There were maybe one or two screen passes. You can mask O-line issues with play calling. Everyone will be knocking the Dallas Cowboys for sucking last night, BUT...knowing their Oline issues...would you have thought that a team that put up 282/1/0 in passing 100 in rushing would've lost to the Foreskins? Seriously...it wasn't the them moving the ball that was a problem, it was stupid individuals. Dallas moved the ball when they needed to. Carolina moved the ball decently.

The redzone turnovers killed, but the time Eli had to throw the ball and convert some of those loooong 3rd downs killed us. No pass rush caused those. If anything the coaching staff should have learned...that despite our tight coverage on a lot of the pass plays, you cannot give a NFL-calibre QB that much time to throw a ball.

Just think if NY's receivers had caught 50% of those dropped balls and how worse it would've been.

I still think the safety play is the highest priority. The tampa-2 defense is predicated on the ability of the safeties to provide help over the top and Godfrey totally blew it yesterday. Godfrey not only missed his assignments and was late to the ball, he also collided with Marshall on the first TD and prevented him from making a play as well...

We're a run-first team that tried to be a passing team in the 2nd quarter of the game yesterday and we paid for it. Something tells me we'll be running the ball allot more next week and that will immediatley improve the QB, WR and OL play, but if Godfrey can't play his position in our tampa-2 defense then we're in big trouble. It's possible that Pugh could come in and save the day, but that's allot to ask of a rookie.

QB is by far the most important factor with our team right now. We could not capitalize on interceptions thrown by eli manning last night. That is mostly on the QB. You have to complete those 3rd down passes and make smart decisions. Never float a ball into triple coverage and when you have a WR open in the middle of the field, dont overthrow his A$$ by a mile. We have a good QB, all else falls into place.

Another vote for O-Line. Our run game was crap, and that was in part to their horrible blocking. Moore was injured thanks to them, and one of his stupid throws came because he was flushed out of the pocket. We were given a gift by the Giants HORRIBLE punter twice, and should have come away with TDs both times. Matt can play, we saw that when NY went into Prevent those two times. But without time to find our weak WRs, he's just going to toss it into tight coverage like the average QB he is. With time, at least he can make a short completion.

G5 you have an excellent point with the screens. With as much pressure as was being sent our way I was very surprised we didn't throw a few screens to Goodson or Williams.

I remember one attempt utterly failing and can't recall them trying a screen again after that.
