Where was the Dline pressure we saw all pre-season??

You see Brown spin move and stay in place?

Or how about when he almost got there only to be pancaked.

Or the other time when he nearly got a sack but was yet pancaked again.

Or the numerous times we blitzed straight into their linemen instead of trying to confuse them or out flank them.

Haha welcome to Fox's team. Our D ain't really been that good since Jack Del Rio left for Jags. Jack Del Rio was the best DC we ever had. His D help us get to the SB. But when he left our D went with it. Plain and simple John is not that good of HC. He will fail this year and no team will want him as a HC. At best he might get lucky to get a job once again a DC. It took Dom Capers a few years to back as aDC after been fired from the panther in 96. Fox will be lucky to even have ajob next year period. Plain and simple we need new blood in here.:drool5:

In 2008 Detroit had a smothering defense in the preseason, allowing only 6.8 points per game. Come the regular season, teams started game-planning against them and scored 32.3 points per game. Detroit went from first in preseason to the last in the regular season.

I don't know what made me think of that...

Uuuuuuuuummmmmmmmm, the thread title says it all- it was pre-season. While the Panthers were busy trying to figure out what their D-line would look like, Panther opponents were trying to figure out their respective O-lines.

Today was the beginning of the regular season and a young, inexperienced bunch of guys went against a veteran O-line. Simple as that.

First half was impressive....2nd half was where New Yorks coaching staff saw our rookies...the Panthers have established the building blocks for the future.
For whos future. Fox's future!!! There is no Building going on here. It's a matter of trying to survive this season. We have no offense hardly our D giving hugh plays down field despite them slowing the run for the most part. The only postive thing for us today is out STs. Other then that Fox is so screwed at the end of the season. If Fox goes so does Davidson and meeks. Because you know any new HC that comes in here will want his own staff for a fresh start.

I was pretty impressed with our defense overall. When you're turning the ball over right and left, it's tough to keep the other team from racking up points (unless our D can also play against our offense).

I was, however, disappointed with the pressure from the DL. I just don't understand how they played so well against the run and were able to get in the backfield against the run, but couldn't get close enough to Eli to spit at him.

The other disappointment was Charles Godfrey. If you look at the stat sheet, you would've thought he was the star of the defense today. But, if you watched the game, you realize that he was horrendously awful and played a major role in just about every big play the Giants had.
