Moore taken to hospital after loss

Carolina Panthers QB Matt Moore was taken to a nearby hospital for evaluation, after taking a vicious hit late in Sunday's 31-18 loss at New York.

Team officials weren't certain that he'd make the flight back to Charlotte with the team, and had no further word on his condition.

Moore, who was sacked four times and threw three interceptions, doubled over on the field after being sacked late in the fourth quarter by Giants defensive end Osi Umenyiora. He was helped to the bench, in obvious discomfort. Rookie Jimmy Clausen finished the game.

"It's tough," left tackle Jordan Gross said. "When a left tackle gets beat, bad things happen."

I really don't get the hate here. Moore is our quarterback for good or bad. If he is hurt it will be Clausen's turn and everyone needs to get behind him. This is who we will have to win or lose with. There was plenty of fault to go around in that game. Hopefully they get better at home and Tampa may be the perfect tonic.

I can't blame Moore for much besides throwing the 3 picks, they were horrible, but we didn't exactly set him up for success... As Moose and Goose said on the broadcast, the predictability of offensive playcalling was laughable.

That being said, I don't see what's wrong with giving Clausen a shot next week, as I don't think we planned to make MM our QB for the future anyway, and that's why he didn't get an extension, only a one-year tender.

I hope he's alright.
