Start Jarrett....

He plays hard, he blocks well, he can get separation, he can catch the ball, he is physical and contrary to popular belief he didn't play bad today.

And then, your alarm clock rang.

Be for real. Watch the tape! Who played better today? I actually agreed to disagree with you before this statement. Get the shovel out!

Jarrett is slow off the line.....doesn't mean he he can't get open when plays are allowed to develop.

Combine that with a poorly performing O-Line and you have a recipe for disaster.

Magnus is correct. When you factor in situational conditions and the way the defense was playing, Jarrett wasn't anything special. At this point, I'd just as soon see Jarrett deactivated for Armanti Edwards so that we have some other dimensions.

As to LaFell, he looked like a rookie starting his first NFL game at times, but considering that's what he was, no great shock there. He had enough good moments as a receiver and as a downfield blocker that I'm fine with starting him again next week.

It is going to be funny if by the end of the year Lafell has better career stats than Jarrett.

Two TDs is all it would take to get there.

IMO Lafell drew two PI against the Giants, but the first one was not called. I'm not saying he would have caught them, but it is a decent debut for a rookie WR.

That non-call was as blatant as anything I've seen in years.

Start Gettis

I mean what has Lafell showed that Gettis has not. If Lafell can start, so can Gettis

Atleast he has the combination of speed and size that Jarrett nor Lafell has. Then put Goodson in the slot

Either way, no protection = useless

At this point, I'm down with this.

lol Funny that most people just don't want to accept that Jarrett is better than Lafell right now and has been in camp and the preseason.

any word on Martin? That might be the way to get some speed on the field. We're woefully slow right now.

Not that I've seen, but I'll look again.

Right now I might rather have Edwards on the field than Jarrett.

Martin being out would hurt ST, especially if Senn can't go again.

EDIT: It's a concussion, but that's all I've got.

yeah. For a few weeks, him out and a speed guy in is fine. Martin, not Jarrett. I think the problem is that we have two of that guy, he and LaFell, along with a special teamer who isn't fast. No speed.

Which, FWIW I'm not saying Jarrett's pure rubbish, or worse than LaFell right now. I just think people are so starved to think something's fantastic about this guy that they're making something big of him getting open twice in unusual circumstances.

That was why I thought Edwards might be active today.

Honestly, if Martin can't go, I could live with a receiving corps of Smith, LaFell, Edwards and Gettis.

Frankly though, I'm putting more thought into what they can do for right guard help. Trading for Reggie Wells is out (he was traded to the Eagles). may have to do some research to see who else might be an option.
