IMO Lafell drew two PI against the Giants, but the first one was not called. I'm not saying he would have caught them, but it is a decent debut for a rookie WR.

For real, combine that with a couple of grabs with as shitty as our OL and QB play was today. I think he played well for a rook.

go back and watch the play. The throw wasn't the problem. It was the WR easing off going over the middle not wanting to get involved. The big eye in the sky don't lie.

Dude come on being a wide receiver is about improvising and the QB and the WR have to be on the same page when you do that...they weren't. We can debate all night on who was wrong or right but you all know that routes are adjusted on the fly.

There was no reason to adjust the route though, LaFell would have had a chance to make the catch if he just finished out his route....

If a guy thinks he is open he can settle into that zone, why risk running yourself into coverage when you are wide open right down the pipe. On a crossing route like that it is routine for a guy to cross until he finds a nice spot and try to settle in for an easy throw, much easier than a throw and catch full speed. Routine I tell you, routine!

Too bad Matt had already begun throwing the ball when LaFell decided to break off his route.....

Watch the play, LaFell wasn't settling into the zone on that play. He eased off on the end....he saw where the ball was going and opted not to go for that one.

Problem is no WR really stepped up as the clear cut #2... they all look equally mediocre (if I'm being nice) / horrible (if I'm being realistic) ... so there were constant rotations just cause "hey this guy blows, let's try out the next guy" and you've got a new QB with limited experience and with all the personnel shuffling of one garbage WR to the next, there's no timing or chemistry between Moore and any of them.

That's one of the problems anyway.

Um why? LaFell doesnt attack the ball. He just lets it come to him. Thats pretty much the same problem that Munnerlyn has. They both dont attack the ball. ATTACK!!!!

Nah, he got reps against NO. He should have had reps today. Should have had them last year. The very few he gets he makes plays.

so why doesn't he make plays in preseason? He gets plenty of generic reps there.

I don't know why people have such a hard time believing he doesn't get open.
