Whatever Happens Tomorrow dont over react

Yeah I know this will happen. But tomorrows game is not make or break. We might come out looking like Superbowl champs. We might come out looking like we will have the first round pick in the 2011 draft. But just take the game in stride.

I dont form a opinion until after the 4th game. After 4 games the unknown factors are known. You have a body of work to look at and can tell if the team is gelled if players are understanding the plays and able to make the plays.

So I ask everyone please wait on the doom and gloom threads or the Superbowl bound threads til we have a good perspective on how the team will play.

Yeah I know will fall on blind eyes.

While you're at it, you might also suggest that no one drink alcohol tomorrow. And if they do, get them to do it in moderation.

(ditto on eating too much, especially anything unhealthy)

And I'd also discourage people from yelling at their TVs. Nothing good ever comes of that.

Oh, and while you're at it, try to see if you can get people to refrain from cursing if at all possible. That would be great.

And hey, good luck with all that

Don't worry, I won't over-react at all if we lose. I'll just try to rationalize to myself and everyone else, providing a list of easily correctable and understandable reasons why we lost and why we will win every game from that point forward.

If we win I will certainly over-react and proclaim us as the best team in the league and one of the five best teams of all time (too early to tell if we're #1 all time). I will also bet everything I own on a Super Bowl victory for the Panthers.

Signed,

Proud Super-Optimist Panther Homer

    • When we drafted Luke, we already had Cam, Smith, Olsen, Stewart, Deangleo, Gross, Kalil, CJ, Hardy, Beason, TD, Gamble (and maybe more I'm forgetting), we had a lot of great pieces in place. Going pure BPA for a player with Luke's potential when the LB you already have is different when you already have all those pieces in place.  Our OL right now is probably in a better shape than that team and our RBs and TE have potential compared to proven vets back then, but after that, the 2012 roster was in a far better shape than we are right now. We need a #1 WR, DEs, LBs, DBs, C, and depending who you ask a QB.  Going BPA at pick #5 when that player is a DT and your current best player on either side of the ball is a DT, seems irresponsible. If he's the only player they like that high left, then you trade back and go with position of more need at a slot that makes sense for the player while adding other picks.  If you trade back and he falls because other teams don't need/want a DT, then you consider him at that point because of the value.
    • This sounds like the same back and forth when we drafted a LB when we already had a LB or as mentioned prior back to back DLs. I want the BPA, if it is another DT so be it. (No not a kicker/punter for those people that think they are funny))
