i mean based off this it would be a hard pass from me.

Yep.  Much closer to Drake London than Mike Evans like some people want to say.  Evans was much more explosive and better at using his size to make plays contested.   TMac is better on the short and intermediate routes.

Tet isn't Evens. He isn't as big, quick or uses his body size as well as Evans.

The route stuff can be learned. The Evans comp looks inaccurate but he isn't a bad player. Would be a whomp whomp for us in the top 10 after last year IMO but he is better than XL and has more upside. Huge meh for me.

People need to get out of here with that Marty Hurney 1st round draft pick success crap.  It was only by sheer and utter complete luck he didn't trade Cam Newton for Jimmy Clausen.

His picks tended to fail but he also picked what people around him wanted and those did well. Hurney solo was a disaster.

So, you just want to add to the controversy with this post as well?

Because it's not correct either, as some had him timed as fast as 4.46.

There were 40 scouts there apparently, so yea, when they're all hand timing him, it's going to give you a wide range of possible times, but in the end, 40 times don't matter anyways.  Running a 4.46 or a 4.58 is basically all the same when his game isn't predicated on speed.

He has more than enough speed given all his other attributes he brings, which is all that matters in the end.

No, he's not a track star, but his size and hands are both 99th percentile amongst NFL WRs.  Which is why I don't get all the fan hand wringing over his speed, because it's just ignoring the things he can do that almost every other WR in the NFL can't do.

Nope, not trying to be controversial, just factual. This is a message board, and for me it's just a discussion among--many of us--longtime buddies. Of course we have some pricks, but that's the Internet.

What I will say is that it's fair game to discuss Tet's 40 time(s), and if there is a controversy (which I guess there is among NFL types), he is the author of it, as he refused to run it at the Combine.

I'm generally a Tet guy, so I believe he can at least be an effective chain-mover and threats in the Red zone. I woukd prefer to think that that's his floor and not his ceiling. Now all the "he's a top [this]" or "he's gonna be a top [that]", for me, doesn't amount to a hill of beans. He's going to have to come into the NFL and prove that he'll be able to separate enough and catch against pro DBs on a consistent basis. Once he is able to do that and establish some type of track record (no pun intended), then we can start rating and slotting him in regards to his peers.

On an off note, if Mason Graham slides, I think we have to take him. I don't think Carter is sliding. After Graham and maybe Jalon Walker, it's all up in the air. To be honest, I might give Tyler Warren the edg over Tet though--might--due to versatility and "dawg" factor, but I go back and forth with several of these guys.
