Will football be as popular after a lockout season?

The players will cave in at the last possible moment and there will be a 2011 NFL season.

... or maybe something I haven't seen anyone mention - perhaps both sides can give a little and COMPROMISE.

Either way, I hope the 2011 season WILL be played.

honestly? players. without the players we're watching UFL ball. There's a reason I don't watch UFL ball.

If you're talking about the literal existence of the NFL? Owners. If you're talking about the quality of the sport itself? Players. Both are equally necessary in their own ways.

Watch a couple of UFL or Arena games and tell me if you'd tune into that every week.

I wouldn't.

Do you watch College Ball? I do and I find it just as interesting as the NFL, even though the talent isn't as good. I think the reason people don't watch the UFL or didn't watch the old USFL is that they are not familiar with it.

After the Vikings/Saints game, I wondered if the players will do the same before games tommorrow and Monday?

I go back and forth on the lockout, sometimes I think there will be one and then sometimes I think there won't be one. I can't imagine with all the money involved and how short players careers are, that most of them will want to miss one season. Even with the TV contracts the owners are going to lose money. I also believe the 18 game BS in just a tactic to make it look like the owners are giving the players something by not expanding the season.

My thoughts exactly on this entire situation short time span for most NFL players and not to mention the younger NFL players that need the on field experience each and every year to get better and the older vets who might not have that much left in the tank shouldn't want to miss any time they could spend trying to reach or repeat a goal which is a championship that might not come if they miss an entire year

Just from a player perspective it doesn't make sense and I for one don't want to miss a season of my favorite sport.
