also in a couple years they can just switch the roles, and Stewart can be the feature back(well, Stewart can get the majority of the carries.) I just don't see DWill walking away unless he really wants to be in a single running back system.

won't know until next year, though.

Deangelo has seemed pretty appreciative of the dual system we have and our offensive line. He maybe inclined to stay or he may just being saying all the right things because that's the kind of guy he is. I wouldn't blame if he wanted to go somewhere else but I think he realizes this is the best place for him.

I thought I heard a while back that the Panthers had a deal on the table for him but he didn't sign it?

Gantt has suggested that's true of several players (not that they didn't sign, but that there are offers waiting) which is a perfectly reasonable possibility.

Williams could be one of them, but it's all hypothetical at this point.

so pay williams top dollar now so he can take on a back up role?

not happening.

ultimately, keeping williams (but as the #2) is what i think carolina wants to happen...but like i said, the ball is in williams's hand.
