Us releasing D-Will would essentially be the same as the Giants releasing Ward, and man, does their run game suck now.

Oh f**k, nevermind.

Seriously, don't complain about the front office being too loyal to Jake when you guys do the exact same thing with D-Will.

Why should we give an older rb a huge contract when we have another elite and younger rb in Stewart, and two very competent backups in Goodson and Sutton.

Yes, we've saved a lot of money this offseason, but that doesn't mean we need to re-sign every player that fans are absurdly loyal to instead of signing the guys who are VITAL to our success as a team (Sup Ryan Kalil and Jon Beason?) and bringing in other guys who can contribute through free agency as well.

I don't get how people believe that we can re-sign EVERY SINGLE PLAYER ON OUR TEAM and still beat their dicks to Vincent Jackson trade scenarios like that would ever be a realistic possibility if we give everyone a huge contract extension.

Because we have a guy behind him that can do just as good a job.I think we will try to re-sign Williams but it wont be for a mega deal.Williams could make more money leaving but he would have a longer career if he stayed. Its up to Williams and the FO.

this...a business standpoint, it doesn't make sense to toss a lot of money at williams. what carolina offers williams depends on how double trouble performs this season.

stewart goes down, williams gets paid.

williams goes down, stewart explodes like last season...or both stewart and williams explodes, no big payday.

in the end, carolina will try to keep him, but the ball is in his court. if he isn't in a panther's uniform after next season, it's because he decided not to be.

...and stewart/williams > stewart/sutton > stewart/goodson
