Otah suffered a "mini-setback"

But the point remains the same.

Schwartz started in that game... gave up a half a sack. Combined with Canty's .5 sack, Tuck and Canty together had 1 entire sack.

Giants O-line gave up 4 sacks.

Panthers O-line averaged 5.4 ypc on 46 rushing attempts.

Giants O-line averaged 3.6 on just 19 rushing attemps.

So... let's not go talking about who should be a challenge for whom.

Tuck will be the best player on the field, of course he is a challenge for any RT, especially a backup.

hah! good one! I find it very hard to claim any player on a defense that was essentially eviscerated the best player on the field. He might, and I mean might be the best player on your defense but far from the field.

ward rushed for 215 yards on 15 carries in 2008 so that didn't mean anything in 2009. I see even less carryover from the 2009 giants and the 2010 giants.
You are correct, the OT win in 2008 at home didn't mean anything when it came to the 2009 41-6 final home game at the Meadowlands defeat in 2009. With less carryover to the 2010 Stadium opener in NJ, what exactly has improved?

I think you'd know why giants fans are excited about the 2010 team

- Kenny Philips is back (we feel like he is a pro-bowler in waiting)

- Sheridan is gone and he lost the team before the carolina game

- Goff has had a full preseason as a started and has flashed.

- Canty, Tuck, Alford were all injured (and now they aren't) and we added Linval Joseph who has had a good push against the #1's.

- Antrell Rolle > CC Brown

- Bradshaw has no broken feet or damaged ankles

- Our big concern is the OL health this year and Koets the backup center played well during preseason and Andrews flashed like a pro-bowler, (he provides much needed depth, Seubert can play center if ohara is out or Koets isn't producing.)

- Keith Bulluck adds much needed leadership and may be an upgrade if his health holds up.

- young explosive receivers

there are plenty of reasons of course.

Nice list, it's good to be excited with the dawn of a new season, but I don't care why the Giants fans are excited about 2010.

I will simply say the loss of Peppers and Delhomme coupled with the rookie surprises and promise of the Meeks system has some of us excited to see what can happen.....Add DeAngelo and the Steve Smith you know is real and I feel good about our (Giants -7) chances, even up.

I suspect you don't care about that, either. Maybe one day we can beat your asses down here for once...until then, we have your stadium grand opening waiting for Sunday...

Everything I hear says don't expect much from the Panthers, yet everything I've seen says we have a shot at the win....Go Panthers

sure I care why the panther's may or may not be good. The waiting is terrible though.

most of the things i've seen about the panthers have been positive and only the forum here thinks people think poorly of them. maybe a chip on the shoulder which is good for the players to have, maybe understandable for the fans to have.
