I want whomever the new DC is to have complete control of the defense as well as davidson having complete control of the offense. No one to get in their ways. All foxie needs to do is manage his players and what not.

That'd require it to be someone Fox has complete faith in.

There are other good candidates out there, but the only guy I could easily say "complete faith" about (Edwards) isn't a candidate at this point.

Actually at this point I'd be thrilled with Edwards as DC. hopefully he or someone else (del rio) becomes available.

I thought Edwards was safe - for a year, anyway - when it was confirmed Kirk Ferentz wasn't leaving Iowa (he was said to be Pioli's number one guy).

But now there appear to be some other candidates on the Chiefs radar, so it could still happen.

I still think edwards is safe, otherwise I think Pioli would've fired him already if he wasn't at least a little keen on keeping him for the final year of his deal. though del rio might end up getting fired, not sure if it's still going to happen though. I'd have thought they'd have done it already if they were going to fire him. other then those two guys I can't really think of anyone fox would fire trgovac for. Unfortantly.

It's a little discouraging to remember just how much seeming angst John Fox expressed after firing Dan Henning.

It was clear Fox had been reluctant to do so, and there was speculation aplenty (though no actual evidence) that the decision was forced on him from higher up.

I actually find myself hoping that the "force out" story was true, and that whoever was responsible has similar feelings this season.

Sad to say that I have little confidence Fox will fire Trgovac on his own initiative.

(let's face it; "initiative" isn't exactly one of Fox's strong points)

yea especially when it comes to game plan changing in the middle of games and when it comes to players and coaches. Still hoping for change with the DC position.

I still wonder about that myself, if he was forced or not to fire henning

With Fox it's frustrating to think about because you know when you're looking at a terrible defensive gameplan for his last game and terrible defense in the last 8 games of the season compared to the first, he's going to look at, 12-4. He's not a detail guy. All he's going to see is that his defense "got him" to 12-4, when we all know that the offense really carried this team and hit paydirt time and time again to bail out the defense in games. So what could've been terrible defensive meltdowns were averted by the offense into close shoot out wins. Of course there were times where the defense was just so horrible there was no chance of the offense mounting a comeback. (at Atlanta:()

Fox is too general for his own good, and that holds him back from doing things that would benefit him at times.

agree the only numbers that matter to foxie is 12 - 4 regular season.

when what he should be focused on is how to better the result after the 11 - 5 or 12 - 4 season.

I want a freaking super bowl
