Who would put $ on the Panthers and the points versus the Giants?

lol at Eli making a lucky completion in the superbowl and suddenly becoming elite QB. his career QB rating is 79.2

No one ever said he was ELITE, including myself, a Giants fan. He is a product of the Giants system and a franchise QB. The Giants system is designed to run the ball first, much like a team you might be familiar with. No Giants QB will likely ever put up Drew Brees or Peyton Manning numbers (or any dome QB for that matter).

About the Super Bowl throw. Funny you forgot to mention how he avoided 3 Patriots linemen, and was basically as good as sacked numerous times. Was it a bad throw? Yup. Horrible throw, a duck, and right in the middle of the field; but the effort from Manning on that play was heroic.

Manning led the Giants to that Superbowl with a near flawless playoff performance.

2007/08 Playoff Run:

vs. Tampa Bay - 20/27 185 yds 2 TDs 0 INTS

vs. Dallas - 12/18 163 yds 2 TDs 0 INTS

vs. Green Bay - 21/40 251 yds 0 TDs 0 INTS

vs. New England - 19/34 255 yds 2 TDs 1 INT

95.7 Overall QB Post season Rating

Say what you want about Eli, but at least know your facts.

that runs through my head every time I hear a co-worker thats a giants fan say the famous " how many super bowls have the panthers won?" then I think, poo, that lucky catch, imagine if kaseys kick had not gone outta bounds... that and he also says how eli is just as good as peyton and there again that lucky ass catch comes to mind

Look. Anyone who brings up the whole Super Bowl ring argument first hand is just probably not very knowledgeable about football, and probably has no better comeback to offer. Any Giant fan who says Eli is as good as Peyton is an idiot, a bandwagon fan, or just plain oblivious to the sport. Please don't believe all us Giants fans think that way. Many of us are very realistic. There are fans for EVERY team that ruin the reputation of the majority; but to be honest, most die-hard fans are level headed, intelligent people. Anyways, yeah we got lucky in XLII, but we wanted that game more than the Pats did, and that is a fact.
