Are hickeys unprofessional in the workplace

If you walk around your place of business - an office, warehouse, studio, wherever you work, is it unprofessional to be sporting hickey(s) on your neck?

This does not apply to people who work from home, or work alone (in either case you are lucky)

Hickeys are tacky regardless of where you work. Learn proper control to bring either party pleasure. I think that people sporting hickeys are with a partner suffering from pre-mature coming. Definitely not hot. Definitely not professional.

If you think the hickey's on my neck are bad you should see the scratch marks she left my my back and the teeth marks on my shoulder.

We like it rough... Don't judge me because you're sexually repressed and your intercourse consists of 30 seconds of missionary. Yes I know they are the most passionate 30 seconds of your life, and I respect the value you place on pure undeviating intimacy, but that is not enough for me. I like my passion fiery and deep. So of course I'm going to come out with a few war wounds.

If you don't like my hickeys too fuging bad. Stop looking at my gaud damn neck. At the end of the day my sex life doesn't negatively affect my work life. It actually boost my morale and makes me work harder. That being said you do your job and I'll do mine.

hahahahaha I love this. We do like to scratch as well.

@hepcat- not all of us bite...just the fun ones :) you don't have to bite hard either! Don't think I have ever met a guy that didn't like it.

I know I'm not going to convince you you're wrong but oh well...

The question at hand is are they professional? The answer is unequivocally no.

Its not a judgment on how you like your sex. Quite honestly I don't care.

As much as you want to believe that it doesn't have an impact on your work life you're wrong. As I said before it is an open demonstration of your lack of respect for the work place as well as a lask of discretion and tact. It shows your co-workers and your boss that you don't give a damn about even the simplest rules of office decorum and couldn't care less if something you do offends them. Its not all that different from putting a sign on your desk that says "I don't give a fug what you think - so kindly piss off!"

I fire people for that kind of attitude, others just with hold raises and promotions. But either way the thought that it doesn't impact your work life is something I would expect a teenager to say.

But what the hell do I know? Ive only got 15+ years in management...

I mean it's probably just better off to say nothing...99% of the time, in every situation, ever.
