It was. As was the Bengals game that same year. Those are the last 2 blackouts we had. Panthers will not have a blackout in the near future, so please everyone don't fret it.

Funny we were called a 'lower echelon' team, when every single Forbes list and other NFL rankings for franchises has us in the high-middle to top-level teams. 14th and higher in everything I've seen.

Wall Street Journal paper edition had an updated franchise list today actually.

All depends on how you measure it.

It was on Sportscenter live. Numerous potential playoff teams could see them. San Diego, Cincinnati, and Arizona from the playoff teams.

Carolina Panthers: Have sold out two games. Can't rule out blackouts.

Nah you are right...it was a popularity ranking based on:

each team's local and national TV rankings, how often they're mentioned on the Internet and how many visitors they attract to their official websites

Bucs game won't be a blackout. Less than 1,000 remain? Not sure how true that is or not, but there are PLENTY of people who show up and buy tickets the day of the event. It will be on TV just like the rest of our games this year. Not to mention FOX and advertisers buyout the extra needed seats to get the game on TV, this is why in 2002 no FOX games went black out when CBS did.

Since it's likely Clausen will start next week, that might motivate people to buy tickets so they can see his debut. You never know.
