Trade Sutton? Panthers say no.

We let DeAngelo walk next year.
not going to happen. more likely that matt moore leaves and clausen starts. if you have a new QB you have to have a big time run game until things settle. you have to run 550-600 times to have much of any chance of success.

they'll keep williams and stewart for a while. they'll have too much invested in clausen to not keep 34 & 28.

Beason>Kalil>DWill

Take into account dept of position

we'll have more than enough cap space to sign all of them. we have had a spring cleaning in which we lost a lot of long term cap space.

i'm not worried about us being able to re-sign all of them this year and in the offseason.

of all things to worry about between this year and next, that isn't one of them, imo.

How active have the Panthers ever been with trading and how committed are they to sticking with what they have this season in general?

I guess all this trade or upgrade talk to WR comes down to whether or not it's fair for the Panthers to put LaFell (et al?) on the back burner and go with someone more proven. DJ had lots of time, why doesnt LaFell get the same? well, I guess it would be because we have a more dire need right now, but isnt NOW the right time to be staying put? Isnt now the time to be checking to see what we have given that we're doing that in a lot of spots and the WR position is notoriously difficult to master right away. Perhaps with increased reps and LaFell being relatively polished he'll be alright after 4, 5, 6 games.

All that aside, imo, we have a lot of depth at RB that cant be used to its full potential unless we run the ball 90% of the time and that in itself would make it ineffective. So we have to trade one of them I would think. Do we really need Sutton if we have others that can step in temporarily and Jackson is sitting on the PS? prolly not.

Edit: ooo we could trade him for O-line depth too.
