Dear Panthers, in regards to keeping Gettis instead of pursuing Houshmandzadeh

To compare Hackett to Housh is just wrong.

My point is that everyone wants someone to come in and be the savior. You get high hopes when the move is made and then the chances are highly likely that it will not improve anything. Housh would most likely have given high hopes to fans and then been a dud like Hackett. He is too old to hope for one year of production.

Jarret's issues were and are some of his own making but when you never get the ball thrown to you it is hard to actually judge his talent. He looked better after Jake was out and Moore came in. Some of the other young receivers have a lot of potential. I would rather give them the chance to learn with a new QB and build some chemistry.

Though I may not agree with it, I do respect that opinion.

I just hope that on their way to building some chemistry that they don't blow up our window of opportunity to see the Lombardi trophy to pieces.

I didn't bother to read all the posts, but would I be the only one to agree with the 'no call'?

IMO Gettis is going to be a steal. He's got size and speed. He just has to settle in.

I think this forum will be surprised with the receiver play we get this season. (Provided we can get the ball to them)

2cents.

whosyourmomma would have to be stupid to join the panthers anyway. his time in seattle was unsuccessful because the team is bad, inconsistent play at QB and a terrible core of receivers.

yeah smith is great but everything else is the same. looks like nobody wants whosyourmomma anyway, great job by the classless seattle franchise to cut him right when teams are pretty much set with their rosters.

What if Gettis turns out better than Housh?

Guys keep in mind your misguided optimism of developing these young WR's should be crushed by the team's inept ability at doing so the last 7 years.

yeah, but you've got to at least give the new guys a shot at some PT or else they'll end up the same way. And then youll have definitely wasted the draft picks rather than just "maybe" wasted them.
