Dear Panthers, in regards to keeping Gettis instead of pursuing Houshmandzadeh

We are never going develop anyone if you keep supplanting them with aging veterans. The panthers are "COMMITTED" to youth movement and developing "IN HOUSE" talent at pretty much all positions. If DJ is salvageable we will learn early. However QB play has a huge significance on how our WR's look. Donavan McNabb made Freddie Jackson look good. Deion Branch looks great for Tom Brady. Jake Delhomme looked like he was suffering from Gulf War Syndrome. Give the team a chance. Or at least save it for after the 1st game.

lol in what world is 87 year old Houshmandzadeh top tier?

He's an upgrade over DJ that would cost the vet minimum.

housh = ricky proehl...maybe moose.

not top tier talent

not expensive (this year)

upgrade over the "potential" we have on the team

oh well. i'm done complaining for now.

we'll have tons of cap space next year (or whenever there's football again with a salary cap in place) plus a first round pick.

we'll re-sign all the players that need to be and then replace the ones who shouldn't be around with players who will make this team a championship team and we'll do it with a new coach.

whatever happens this year, at least we'll have next year.

here's hoping the non-smith receivers don't suck. they've got a lot of work and plenty of opportunity this year to show they don't.

wouldn't have want to play here anyway. mute point
probably so. ravens have a much better situation.

a head coach that is going to be there for a long time

a proven QB

a legit playoff team (and now one that is my favorite to go to and win the superbowl)

a strong supporting cast around him in the passing game

a FO thats willing to do what it takes to put together a team that can win games (not one that they hope can win some games at some point)

Have the Panthers done anything this offseason to indicate that they would aggressively pursue any top tier talent available on the Free Agent market?

Come on

If you're pissed the Panthers didn't sign TJ, then you're an idiot because they never were going to.

If you thought the Panthers were pursuing TJ, then you're an idiot because the Panthers haven't pursued anyone.
