What is really wrong with our offense?

I look forward to seeing what they actually come out with next Sunday. For one, we are going to run it a ton more than we have been. No more passing on third and two, we'll use our core strength, right?

When we're running it 30 times a game the entire character of the offense will change. Moore is mobile, he spreads the ball around well, and he's the first Quarterback in the Fox era not named Jake Delhomme who actually seeks out Smitty and puts him in a position to make plays.

I think the passing game will look very different than in 2009. The passes will be shorter, and we'll use the Tight Ends and Running Backs more. This will all be done to accommodate the rookies, who will improve but who plainly aren't there yet.

I believe Jarrett will become a situational player. He doesn't run well after the catch, and he can't get open on deep routes. But he's got amazing hands, and should emerge as a good third and long threat. It's going to be Jarrett, not LaFell, who gets the balls across the middle. In 2009 we would throw the ball 15-20 yards down the field to Moose on third and 8. In 2010 we'll throw it 7 yards to Jarrett and hope he has the presence of mind to fall forward.

Along the way either LaFell or Gettis will emerge as a legit number two receiver, and Edwards will find a groove that allows him to contribute, and show signs of future stardom even. I honestly believe all of this.

So really, I just bitch about the offense right now because I'm impatient for Panthers football and still haven't seen it in 2010. At least the defense put on a show this preseason--had they not I think I would be apoplectic by now.

Nobody scored TDs on our starting defense. And our offense (minus a lot of firepower) moved the ball well- if Stewie is in there to spell DWill, that constant pounding will wear the other teams down.

Somebody mentioned a stat during the Pittsburgh game, and it was what we need to keep doing- last year, we led the NFL in running plays and rushing TDS, and were dead last in passing plays. A team that pounds the ball and has a good defense will pwn.

No!! because if you suck in the preseason you automatically blow in the regular season! and Jerry Richardson is tanking the season because he cares more about the NFL owners in the CBA than the Panthers season, and Matt Moore sucks. Bring back Jake. Sign Moose, Jerry Rice, and TJ djfljflksdjlf. did i miss anything?

Seriously, the Richardson thing is quite possibly the most outlandish one.
