A little perspective regarding Mr. Richardson

CAVSS

Can we please stop calling him "Mr." Richardson? God that's annoying. I get it if you actually work for the team, but fans that call him Mr. Richardson just drive me crazy. Unless you're also calling John Fox "Mr." Fox and Marty Hurney "Mr." Hurney and DeAngelo Williams "Mr." Williams.

I don't work for the team, and I have respect for Mr. Richardson and will continue to call him that.

Oh, and screw you.

1. Jerry, although he gets out and about on game days, visits tailgates and enjoys meeting fans, doesn't mind signing stuff and will gladly have his picture taken with you, but he doesn't talk much at all to the media and will avoid any business or team discussions. So don't expect him to say anything.

2. He's a league loyalist, first and foremost. In spite of getting screwed by Tagliabue when he promised Jerry a Super Bowl and reneged on the deal some 5-6 years later, he still believes he owes some allegiance to the league and will always have the NFL shield in the middle of the field.

3. If the league told Jerry the Charlotte market was no longer viable and he had to move the team to Los Angeles, he wouldn't hesitate to load up the trucks... and it wouldn't be in the middle of the night.

4. For the fans here who simply do not believe Jerry would forsake the short-term success of this team in favor of the future of the league, I don't know what to tell you except read all the articles that are everywhere on the net explaining Jerry's role in the CBA negotiations and just how important he believes this issue is.

I love conspiracy theories. And just how credible are these articles and stories? Just who the hell gets to sit in on these CBA meetings who keeps leaking all this information?

Just who the hell here knows Richardson well enough to make these kind of statements?

Some can bitch and moan all they want. Richardson IS the Carolina Panthers. He has rarely ever brought in big name players, and every year there are some of those fans that question his loyalty.

The Panthers have been more well off than the Raiders and Skins over the last decade and those two teams sign almost every FA big name to a huge contract.

Also, who is to say what we have won't be good? If Richardson, JF and MH are satisfied, I'm satisfied with the roster, until they actually play some games this year and prove themselves one way or the other.

You're simply wrong.

MR. Richardson has old school beliefs that include the idea that the greater good is more important than individual wants and desires. That is an admirable way to live and the world would be better off with more people like that.

Unfortunately, we have mostly selfish, entitled, whiny little ***** who are so caught up in their own wants and desires they're blind to the world around them.

Look, some of us here actually have inside sources. Like Zod, we don't tell everyone who our source is for good reason. I too have a source and they recently said, "it's all about the money...and not just here but all around the league" in reference to JR and what's gone on as of late. I'd argue about Baltimore and the Jets though!

IMHO, we're not trying to just draft guys and groom them into the best team around in three to five years time, we're not 100% sure our core group can make it all the way, and we're not sold on the notion that most high priced FAs are a waste of money.

This is a business first and foremost. Fans, the team, the league, and doing what it takes to win all play second fiddle to making enough money to keep the team a financial success. And right now, the Panthers are worth a lot. Next year is mighty scary for an owner, and I think it speaks volumes what one of the head men in charge of the CBA is doing.
