A little perspective regarding Mr. Richardson

Remember Richardson is a Business man. All he is doing right now is securing the team for a rough ride if there is a lockout. No games means no income he needs to make sure that he has enough money that he doesnt lose the team. If there is a lockout and they dont play football next season I really doubt they will charge the PSL owners for season tickets. But with all that said he will do one more push after all of this and try to win a championship. I figure after the lockout we will be one of the highest spending teams in the league like we have been in the past.
ditto. I just don't like it..........right now

Your accusation makes even less sense, but a lot of ignorance! Further, if you do not understand it, that's your problem, not mine.

To accuse me of being a JR kiss ass because I had my photo with him is pure BS too!

This is all I have to say, because I made a simple challenge you ass...say what you had to say to his face...he's out there almost every Sunday at BOA...introduce yourself to him and he'll take a photo with you...if you haver the balls! Tell him what you think or STFU!

actually a lot you said ealier doesn't make sense...and that's not our problem, but yours. didn't you ever learn that when trying to argue, you are trying to convince something to the audience? basic eng 101 stuff.

You know it may be a little easier to get behind Richard if he would fuggin say something !!! What he has done this year is all assumption and if JR is such an ambassador for the NFL lets hear it !!

I have no doubt he has the right buisness sense when it comes to collective bargaining ETC...but he owes it to the fans to put out a great product!! Picking up a Vet WR would not be going against this be young, spend nothing plan....its one player !!

I like the direction the team is going (player wise) but its like we have a nice car with no gas.

I read once in an article that Jerry said that owning a NFL team was a lifelong dream of his. That being the case I can't imagine that winning a superbowl would not be the culmination of this dream. Jerry is obviously not long for this world and I have a very difficult time believing that he would adamantly forgo any opportunity to make a run at the big game for the purposes of amassing as much money as humanly possible for the purpose of passing it down to his kids. (You know the ones that he fired) I understand that he does care about his reputation with the owners and may plan to leave his mark on the NFL as a whole through the new negotiations of the CBA. But taking all of these things into consideration it still seems unfathomable to me that a man is his place would not want a ring before he passes on. And a man is his position can't count on "we'll get'em next year". Just my opinion.

Jerry's kids are already set for life and they both are still in the Panthers ownership group. When he fired them he did not take that from them... he just removed them from the day to day operations of the team.

However, I do agree that he has the bigger picture in mind. It is how he has operated his entire life, the evidence is there. Today should be no different.

Question for you guys: If Jerry Richardson was faced with a decision where if he went one way it would benefit the league as a whole greatly to the detriment of the Carolina Panthers and if he went the other way it would benefit the Carolina Panthers as a whole to the detriment of the league, which way do you think he would go? Be honest.

I hear what your saying but JR is not being vocal about the plans at all, much is speculation based on action or lack there of.

Regardless, signing one vet WR to a 1-2 yr contract is not going to break JR'S bank now will it?

Unless he dies before January 1, 2011 he isn't passing anything down to his kids. The federal inheritance tax will return to 55% meaning his kids would have to come up with $550,000,000.00 just for the IRS.

That's roughly the same amount George Steinbrenner cheated the IRS out of when he died this year while the inheritance tax is repealed.

Skins owner Jack Kent Cooke's son was forced to sell the Redskins and Jack Kent Cooke Stadium to that a-hole Dan Snyder when the old man died and the family could not afford the taxes to keep the team and stadium.

Im not a business man or lawyer so I might be wrong. But the Panthers are a LLC they dont have one owner. Richardson is just the majority owner and when he does pass the other owners will retain control. His sons even still own parts of the Panthers but dont be surprised if someone else is the face of ownership when Richardson passes.

You don't know very much if you think Mr. Richardson is "not long for this world" ... but it's obvious you don't much about Mr. Richardson at all.

Can we please stop calling him "Mr." Richardson? God that's annoying. I get it if you actually work for the team, but fans that call him Mr. Richardson just drive me crazy. Unless you're also calling John Fox "Mr." Fox and Marty Hurney "Mr." Hurney and DeAngelo Williams "Mr." Williams.

Sorry guy, I have some class and manners and I address people I don't personally know with some respect.

Something you might want to look into, actually.
