not a handy guy by any means...so I need some help!

have a leaking bathtub spout. It's a single faucet bath/shower unit. When you pull the handle up on the tub spout to send the water up to the shower head, I'm getting water leaking out of the wall end of the tub spout. I've pulled it off a couple of times now, the rings all look good. Its not one of the screw on types, but rather one that has a plastic piece that pushes onto the copper pipe and then the spout pushes onto that and is set with a set screw. Any ideas?

Also, I have a leaky shut off valve under the kitchen sink for the dishwasher. It's a cheap metal valve that seems to have a crack in it maybe that was previously repaired with some putty or something?? Tightened the fittings, but it still slowly drips.

You need a new spout. The o-ring that prevents water from running back out is worn out. Take it to Lowes and they can get you a new one.

Turn the shut-off all the way on, then back a half turn, and try tightening the packing nut (the big nut the shut-off screws in and out of).
