DirecTV supposedly to offer Sunday Ticket online to non-DirecTV subscribers this year

Okay..this is my first post ever. I've been a LOOOOOOONG time lurker, but I've finally come out of the shadows and registered an account just to help the OP of this thread (and any other Panther fans stuck out of market).

Sorry if this has already been posted (If so..mods feel free to delete this thread) Based on the thread referenced it doesn't seem like too many people are aware of this just yet though.

This year DirecTV supposedly IS going to make Sunday Ticket available online to non-directv subscribers. The price is going to be $350. Some articles are saying that you have to prove to them that you are "not able" to get satellite (think apartment or obstructed view), however its debatable on how they are going to enforce this. Probably just a questionnaire when you sign up. Sign ups start Sept. 9th.

Here's some articles on it..

USA Today - http://content.usatoday.com/communities/thehuddle/post/2010/08/directv-to-offer-nfl-sunday-ticket-to-non-subscribers-via-the-internet/1

NY Times - http://fifthdown.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/08/25/limited-availability-for-online-sunday-ticket/

And here's an official page for it on the directv website...

I found all this out because I switched to satellite today (I live in NC..but still wanted to watch all the other games and got a sweet deal) and somehow stumbled it across it as I was researching Sunday Ticket.

Supposedly they are not going to market this heavily.

Those just go out or may freeze up, or may be a step slow. I would think direct tv may be a lil more reliable. But paying 350 dollars for that.... idk

I know if I do decide to do it I will read through that agreement, print it out and some more poo cause direct tv play dirty

that's a bit much, i don't see why they charge so much (obviously because people will pay it)

seems like if they just said, ok, you can watch this game for 5$ or so they'd bank by getting lots of single game hits. especially with so many mediums to share their platform (PS3, android, Ipod, laptop, etc).

It is very limited from what I have read wanted to see all the restrictions. But it sounds like if you can actually get direct tv then you can get the online version of sunday ticket. They require you to ask certain questions but I wonder if you live in a building is one then you can stretch the truth a little. Also they are not taking orders yet looks like you cant order til the 9th.
