More than half the people on here for some reason.

 Glad I am no census worker...too much kool aid I guess BB...I just lose it when they keep a guy like Pike, who I actually thought might be the first to go until Thursday night's game..then I wondered why they did not just tell him to leave "Two TO's? Sit down...no just leave!" WTH are we going to seriously do with Pike? If Matt were a casualty, does anyone think JR to JF is gonna ask Clausen to become starter? "Tell Vinny we are interested...no, no call Andy and tell him 2nd round for Puppy breath!"

Let them both go, ease the anxiety and put Clausen on notice.."see kid, we'll cut you in a heart beat, or pay you a couple mil and let you sit this one out!"

If they had thought like you they would have opted not to draft three quarterbacks right out of college and instead drafted one and picked up a veteran. If Matt burns out this year they will play Jimmy and pick up a vet for next season just like the Jets are doing. Not many people think Matt will burn out though and therefore they will keep young QBs.

I feel that we made the right decision keeping Tony Pike because he has more upside.

Granted he didn't exactly light it up in camp or preseason but the fact he was a rookie and had to miss a lot of the early practice's he perfomed as well as could be expected.

Next year,i look for Pike to show some of the potential he displayed in college.

It seems the development of Pike will continue. I have to disagree with every one saying "He has more upside." Pipe showed me that someday he could be a smart accurate noodle armed backup. I think that is his ceiling. He is a career backup and will bounce around the league. As it is he is a fairly bright kid who is having difficulty adapting to the speed of the NFL.
