Idk why anyone thinks he'd want to come here anyway.
desperation? only other options include the jags, bucs, chiefs, and the bills.

we'd have to be the shiniest turd.

?? for QB

?? for HC next year

owner that doesn't want to sign big long term contracts this year

won't be the #1 receiver

no hype

tough sell for sure.

With how sad our receiving corps is, a washed up Housh is better than nothing. I'm not going to lie I really think he could use a change of scenery and would be a good fit here. I said it the other day one man's trash is another's treasure. Housh used to be a dominant receiver. A change of pace could really rejuvenate his career. A one-year deal in an uncapped year is not going to set us back at all.

If we don't even try, it's obvious that Richardson cares little about winning this year and more about a lockout. If we get TJ we're instantly a better team and Smith will have less double teams.

Darin Gannt is just a tool anyway....

Because he's tired of answering the same damn question over and over and over again? Anyone who knows the Panthers know this ain't happening.

Jerry cares about winning, but right now he cares more about the league and the long term well being of the franchise. Hard to blame him for that, despite how unpopular it'll be with the fans.

Do I want him? Of course, I think he'd be a HUGE addition, but just look at what's happened over the last few months.

We're getting younger - he's 33

We're dumping salaries - he's expensive

We're preparing for lock out

We drafted 3 WR's

None of the staff is signed beyond this season

Run based O

What about any of thar above suggests we'll "take a look" when he gets cut? We didn't give a 7th for Crayton.

This boils down to common sense, by signing TJ they go against everything they've done this offseason.

It's not going to happen, give it a rest.

You summed the reasons he is not coming here pretty completly and throughly.

I can't say i disagree with them,what-so-ever.

i don't know that the talent is here. potential talent? yes...but these guys have done nothing to instill confidence that they can?will reach that potential. waiting until they can prove their worth before you feel good about them isn't jumping ship on the team or anything silly like that.

i seriously doubt for several reasons that housh will make it to carolina but it is something that makes a lot of sense to try and make happen, just like boldin did.

the guys we have that aren't smith just aren't ready for the job yet. why pretend that they are? i can see the long term benefits of giving them the reps but who knows if that is going to work out? that's what they were hoping with colbert and jarrett. considering the track record i don't have a whole lot of confidence in our ability to spot and develop WR talent. tolbert might change things down the road but i haven't seen anything to make me believe that somehow we are going to find a respectable WR to put on the other side of smith without going after a housh-type player.

Everyone has an opinion and mine sides with Rayzor especially ur earlier post on this. My take is here in a convo with another die hard fan......Fwd: Hell yeah Atl will sign him myb saints just to show our stubborn ass front office how winners win n this league the draft isn't enough we did EXTRA WELL in the draft now SPEND SOME f**kN BREAD IN FREE AGENCY LIKE WE SHOULDA AWHILE BACK...N PUT THIS MONSTER TOGTHR....poo he will definitely help our young guys with route running professionalism because I love him but smith not the best leader Housh is a a great example of football class act

Edit** he will come cheap being that he's got 5.8 million coming from Seattle...devopling receivers isn't a good enough reason not to..someone said when will Lafell see the field poo when he's fully ready we got his ass for 4 YEARS win now mentality with being cheap is staring us in the face how do we respond

I hope we surprise everybody and get him. I know it goes against everything we have done this offseason, but damn we need a #2. A #2 that is pissed. A #2 that has something to prove to 2 teams now. Won't happen, but damn, it would send a message to the fans, that they do want to win this year. Since so many believe they don't...

Well he's now cut and we can go get him fairly cheap. I mean, the guy did have 900 yards with the flippin Seahawks offense from last year. I don't see why he can't play another 5 years in the league at a relatively high level.

Agreed...I can understand why we wouldn't take him in a trade but he is cut now and isn't guaranteed anything. If we don't bring him in then we are morons because the guy can still play alongside a great WR and be productive.
